BUTTERS IS A BULLDOG💥

Zak Butters joins the Western Bulldogs as a Restricted Free Agent after Port Adelaide decided not to match our bid.

18 months in the making, something we’ve all dreamt of is finally a reality… what a monumental moment for our football club.

It’s a good day to be a Dog. 🔴⚪️🔵

MEGA DEAL LODGED 🗳️

The trade between 5 clubs involving a host of picks & players has been officially lodged and should be signed off on this afternoon. Maginness & O’Keeffe join the Bulldogs with this deal further unlocking our Butters move.

LFG, a lot to look at… WOW 🤯 per Cal Twomey

IT’S HAPPENING!! ⚙️

The paperwork for Restricted Free Agent Zak Butters has been lodged initiating his move to the Western Bulldogs.

Port Adelaide now have 72 hours to decide whether or not they want to match the bid.

Matching the contract triggers a trade whilst not matching results in Pick 5 compensation for the Power.

Now we wait… 🙇. per Cal Twomey

BUTTERS WATCH 👀

In the next 48hrs we will see the Zak Butters restricted free agency deal lodged officially kickstarting his transition to Whitten Oval.

As we’ve known for some time, Port is looking like taking the compensation & conducting a side deal which is said to involve multiple clubs.

Free Agency closes on Friday afternoon, so the deal will be lodged prior & you’d assume in the 3 day bid matching window, Port will decline & complete the side deal at the same time ensuring a friendly transaction.

Keep those notifications on folks!! 🐶🤞

The acquisition of Jordon Butts directly attends to our most glaring deficiency.

Butts is a bona fide big bodied key defender who thrives in 1v1 situations which is exactly what we’ve been crying out for.

The importance of a stable stopper behind the ball is paramount to success, as this signing also takes the heat off the likes of Buku & JOD allowing the evolution of their intercept game.

Welcome aboard big fella, good to have Darcy’s kryptonite on our side… 😉🐕

The circle pictured above highlights the duration in which both the Free Agency & Trade Periods overlap.

As reported, it is increasingly likely Port will take the compensation & the clubs will undertake a second trade which you’d assume will occur simultaneously.

In regard to Zak Butters as a Restricted Free Agent, once the paperwork is lodged, Port Adelaide get 3 days to decide whether or not they match the bid.

So essentially, this window next week is where we are likely to see all the action unfold with the chance it flows onto Monday the 12th if we lodge Butters on deadline day.

WHAT GETS THIS DEAL DONE? 💬
