With spring finally here so are our annual course renovations, with the Links team working across the course to prepare Royal Adelaide for the summer ahead.

This year’s program includes scarifying fairways, hollow tyning green surrounds, refreshing tees and applying a light dusting to the greens. While some of the work may be noticeable in the short term, each step is important in maintaining the health, presentation and playing quality of the course throughout the year.

At least nine holes will remain available for play each day, with the team doing everything possible to limit disruption while completing these important works.

Thank you to all members for your patience and understanding while renovations are underway.

Spring has arrived at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club☀️

With the days getting longer and warmer weather on the way, we’re looking forward to plenty more late-afternoon rounds and spectacular sunsets like this across the course.

There aren’t too many better ways to finish a day of golf. 🌅

The Royal Adelaide Golf Club extends its condolences to the family of Nicholas McCormack OAM.

Nick was a much-loved and highly respected member of the South Australian golf community, and his warmth, generosity and contribution to the game had a positive influence on many of our members.

Vale Nick McCormack ❤️

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing today of much loved PGA Professional Nick McCormack OAM.

Nick joined Golf SA (South Australian Golf Association) in 1985 as State Development Officer after working at The Vines, and travelled extensively across South Australia to coach in schools and clubs for over 20 years.

Nick Introduced golf to thousands of primary school students annually and spearheaded (PE) teacher training.

He developed both the SAPSASA Golf 12u Championship which excels today and the Independent Schools Championship to give young players competitive golf opportunities.

Nick founded the McCormacks Junior Golf Club emphasizing life values like respect and discipline with key events continuing today in the form of the TeeMates McCormacks Cups played each school holidays at The Pat GC.

In recognition of his outstanding service to golf Nick was awarded the Service to the South Australian Golf Industry Award (shared with Jan Douglass) in 2017 and an OAM in the King's Birthday Honours in June 2026, anchored largely by his long-standing presence at The Grange Golf Club.

Nick only advised us last week that his heart was full after being given the opportunity to commit his life to teaching kids golf. 💗

The railway line has been part of the Club’s story from the very beginning — but did you know we once had our very own railway station?

Until 1957, members and visitors could arrive at a station fittingly named “Golf Links”. ⛳

A fascinating reminder of just how closely our Club’s history is connected with the railway.

Framed by bold bunkering and the rugged sandy wastelands that define our links landscape, the 6th green is unmistakably Royal Adelaide.

From above, its natural contours, native vegetation and striking contrast between turf and sand reveal both the beauty and strategic challenge presented.
