Tennis is still played today at the Scottsdale Tennis Club where we have three excellent courts. The ladies play on Tuesday mornings, and casual social tennis is held on Saturdays at 9.30am. Come along and enjoy this great game :-)

Tennis seems to be 'the thing' at the moment with record crowds in 2026 at the Hobart International, Adelaide International and now the Australian Open. There are currently tennis clubs at Scottsdale and Bridport, but they used to be in every town: Gladstone, Pioneer, Branxholm, Ringarooma, Winnaleah, Legerwood, Springfield and Derby all had clubs, and Scottsdale once had three. Here we see Lorraine Styles (Stingel) and Pauline Whatley (Gillies) showing post-match courtesy at the lovely old Ringarooma tennis court. This photo, and many others, are on display in the Ringarooma History Room.

On Saturday afternoon two volunteers installed three brand-new nets at the Scottsdale Tennis Courts, all perfectly tightened and set at the right height. We are very fortunate to have such good quality courts, and with the weather at last starting to warm up there is no reason not to come out and have a hit :-)

Two new signs at the Scottsdale Tennis Courts, courtesy of our friends at Tennis Tasmania. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon and everyone can enjoy some Springtime tennis. The sign at the front gate has a QR code you can scan to learn about casual court hire ($5) or annual membership (only $20).

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at the Scottsdale Tennis Courts at 9am on Saturday August 5th. Hopefully we can get the business done within 30 minutes then enjoy a hit of tennis. All welcome.
