Hey, folks -- I'm feeling much better, but I still have a cough and I'm still Covid-contagious. The last thing I want to do is give people a dose of Covid just before School Holidays, so there will be no ju-jitsu class this evening.

Juniors will pick up again immediately after school holidays. Seniors will get together at the regular 6.00-7.30 timeslot next Wednesday. Unless, of course, I'm hit by lightning or something.

You never know.

End of year is upon us. The regular END OF YEAR BBQ will be held in Northeast Park next Wednesday the 10th, commencing at 5.00pm. There will be snags and burgers, buns and salads, chips and treats - and nobody needs to bring anything except kids with a bit of an appetite.

We hold the BBQ on the second-last school Wednesday every year to minimise the horrors faced by parents during that last school week. And of course, we use the time-slot that we generally use for training to make it even easier.

It's been a difficult year for me, with my knee operation. I'm looking forward to an afternoon of fun, and then a break until we start up again next year with energies and enthusiasm renewed.

School Holidays have finished for the moment -- and your instructor's knee has subsided enough that he can be useful on the mat again.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday afternoon, 5.00pm at the Indoor Cricket Centre.

Senior class runs from 6.00pm as usual.

School Holidays start at the end of this week. It seems pointless to have one training session for juniors at Scottsdale, and then immediately break for the holidays. Accordingly, junior classes will pick up again 16 October. By that stage, I should be well and truly able to navigate the mats once more!

I gave myself a test run yesterday. Barely managed a half-hour of very gentle walking, and by the end I was sweating with pain.

I'm not ready to handle a class yet, not even from the sidelines.

On the good side: the recovery is happening. It's slower than I'd like, but it's definitely happening.

Apologies to the students of Scottsdale and Launceston. I'll be back on deck as soon as I can.
