Congratulations to Tyeisha Hinds from the George Town Cricket Club on winning our Volunteer of the Year Award and one month of free power hours thanks to our presenting partner Aurora Energy!

🏏 NECA SEASON OPENER – GALA DAY THIS SATURDAY! 🏏

The North East Cricket Association season kicks off this Saturday with a Gala Day at Bridport, and you’re invited to be part of a fantastic day of local cricket, community, and fundraising 💙

📍 Where: Bridport
📅 When: This Saturday

All clubs will take to the field across three matches (approximate times):
• 9:00am – Bridport 🆚 Branxholm
• 12:00pm – Scottsdale 🆚 Branxholm
• 3:00pm – Scottsdale 🆚 Bridport

🍞 Toasties available all day – just $4 (cash only)
☕ Traditional cricket afternoon tea will be held between the first two games – gold coin donation

💗 All proceeds from the day will be donated to the McGrath Foundation, supporting breast care nurses across Australia.

📣 NECA is exploring the option of running an u15 (high school) comp this season in addition to our existing primary school comp. Maximum 6 games and a non club based model during Nov\Dec and Feb, with a break for xmas and NY. This will be for boys and girls of all abilities or skill level. We are seeking expressions of interest for this to go ahead.

Please comment with childs name, age and preferred playing time (Friday night or Saturday am). Games will be played at Bridport and Scottsdale with potentially a Georgetown team being added.

2013-2010 age groups
*2013 kids can elect to play in this comp or U12- which will be confirmed soon.

The program caters for all skill levels.

Cricket Tasmania is seeking highly enthusiastic casual staff to support clubs and schools to deliver memorable cricket experiences across Tasmania. Opportunities for casual work for most weekdays in the coming months are available to assist in the promotion and delivery of programs.

They are particularly needing someone to help facilitate Cricket Blast sessions in Scottsdale on Mondays after school and Wednesdays at Bridport during term 4.

What You Will Do (Key Accountabilities):
• Work with CT Community staff to coordinate and conduct a range of cricket clinics and community events.
• Engage with kids, families and volunteers to delivery a memorable cricket experience.
• Support local cricket clubs and schools to deliver a range of Woolworths Cricket Blast programs, increasing participation and retention through high quality delivery.
• Provide timely feedback to CT staff following programs.
• Assist with W/BBL match days in the region through Fan Zone, give aways, and sponsor activations.

Key Skills and Attributes:
• Flexible working hours and availability (ideally have availability in school time and afternoons)
• Current Drivers Licence
• Working with Children Check
• High energy and positive attitude towards practical delivery

Other information:
• Opportunity to gain valuable experience in the sporting industry in a hands-on practical environment
• Great causal pay rate – Coach Grade 1 rate (full rate - $38.55)
