Sunday, August 9 was just one of those days! 😅
With multiple committee members down with illness, trailer troubles, a generator that decided it was taking the day off, a rashie-less club round, and then, just to finish us off, the shark siren from the drone with a white in the area… it certainly wasn’t the competition day we had planned!
But we kept going, worked with what we had, and did our best to make the most of it. 💪
Thanks to the crew for sticking together and making it happen! ❤️

As we head towards our upcoming AGM, this Sunday we’d like to thank all our members, volunteers, sponsors and committee members—past and present—for an incredible journey over the last 9 years.
Scotts Head Boardriders has grown into a strong, family-focused club built on friendships, community and a shared love of surfing. We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved together.
After 9 years, the time has come for a new team to have their turn. Stacey, Tim and Trent will not be re-nominating, which means the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer will all be vacant at the AGM.
If you’d like to be part of the next chapter of SHB, please send your nominations in before Saturday at 12:00 noon to - [email protected]
We’ll still be around to lend a hand and support the club however we can, but we encourage members to step up and help shape the future of our club. 🌊🏄‍♂️

Surfers Rescue 24/7 Course: Park Beach, Coffs Harbour

About - Surfing NSW is hosting a FREE Surfers Rescue and accredited CPR course.
This award-winning course teaches essential board rescue techniques that can assist in emergency situations and potentially save lives. Developed and endorsed by NSW Professional Lifeguards, the Australian Lifeguards Service (ALS), Surf Life Saving NSW (SLSNSW), and some of the world’s elite surfers, these proven techniques utilize the tools already at hand—your surfboard!
Surfers are in the water every day, often being the first to respond in emergencies. With only 4% of beaches patrolled by professional and volunteer lifeguards, surfers are a vital resource in saving lives.
We encourage recreational surfers of all skill levels to participate in the Surfers Rescue 24/7 course to learn these techniques and receive CPR training. With less than 10% of Australians trained in CPR, these skills can be invaluable in any situation.
The Surfers Rescue 24/7 course includes two components:
Surfers Rescue 24/7 Course: Learn four rescue techniques for conscious and unconscious patients using your surfcraft. (Approx. 1.5 hours)
Accredited CPR Course: (Approx. 2 hours)
Important Participation Requirements:
Must be competent in handling, paddling, and surfing on a surfboard, bodyboard, or SUP.
Must be a competent swimmer, able to swim 100m in open water (unassisted).
