The weather meant for windy and wet conditions, but QLD managed to take out the win! what a weekend, over 9 meters of fish qualified for the RPGSC State of Origin comp.
Besides bragging rights for the QLD side, here's who else walked away with a win:
Qld Shade Heaviest Offshore Species (snapper) for $1000 went to Damien with a 3.5kg fish
Brisbane Boating Courses & Squid and Co Heaviest Inshore Species (bream) went to Allan with a 0.62kg catch to claim the $500
Tackle Land heaviest Other Species was also claimed by Allan with a nice 1.11kg flathead.

Fins Juniors, as usual, put some excellent fish over the scales on Sunday.
Brother and Sister duo, William and Laura were back bigger and better. William managed a PB smashing 8.53kg threadfin salmon to take 1st place for the $300.
Sister Laura was close behind with an equally impressive fish - a 5.63kg jewie to claim second place's $100.

Cody took home the Tackle Land junior encouragement award with an excellent 2.95kg snapper.
Nic proved he's skillful with not just a rod but also a pencil, winning the Fins coloring in contest.

Huge thanks to Team-153 East Coast Fishing Adventures and the Fins organizers for keeping the kids entertained during the weigh-in with some pin the hook on the snapper, and Carmen King for the yummy deserts!
Well done to the committee and everyone else that helped for another extremely successful event.

Last but definitely not least, a big thanks to Ralph Bowler, our weigh master who is usually behind the scenes absolutely run off his feet during these events, weighing all the fish and recording the results.

Everyone is welcome at our weigh-in BBQs, whether you're a member or simply interested in the club. Come along, enjoy the atmosphere, and chat with our members. If you'd like to learn more about the club or how to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.

Don't forget our State of Origin Club Weekend Comp starts on Friday Afternoon. Team with the most points scores the perpetual trophy!

2 Origin Three tickets are up for grabs as a lucky door prize at the Sunday BBQ
Rules below:
- 2 fish per species per angler
- must be a current club member
- Senior members only
- Must be present at the official weigh-in on Sunday
- All fish must be weighed at the official weigh-in on Sunday
-All fish must comply with QLD Fishery laws

Total length of all eligible fish will be added and then divided by the number of anglers in the team.

The team with the highest average fish length per angler claims State of Origin bragging rights and takes home the Team Trophy!
