A fantastic weekend at Rugby Palooza in Lennox Head. Thanks to all the coaches who attended and presented . A brilliant presentation by our very own Cassidy Holland and Tim Atkinson. Thanks to Palooza co-founder Andrew Fraser for setting up this wonderful event. Elite 7s will be back for Palooza 2023.

Cassidy Holland will team up with Tim Atkinson to present some great coaching tips for aspiring Rugby 7s coaches at Rugby Palooza January 29-30th.

Introducing Cassidy Holland - Elite 7s

Cassidy is a successful, experienced and passionate coach and leader.

He is currently the Queensland Academy of Sport Men’s 7s Head Coach and also the Head Coach for Australia U18 Boys Rugby 7s team.

Cassidy is also involved with both the National Men's and Women's teams, coaching the Australian Men's development team on the Japan 2018 tour, as well as having continual connection with Women's head coach John Minetti about player pathways and development of pathways.

Introducing Tim Atkinson - Elite 7s

Tim played professional rugby for more than ten years and has drawn on that experience to become a successful rugby coach. His vision, strategy and communication on the field were key to his playing success and are fundamental aspects of his coaching style.

Tim represented ACT Brumbies and QLD Reds in Super Rugby, played in Japan for Kyushu Den Ryoku, and captained Australia in Rugby 7s including an appearance at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, where he was the leading try scorer for the tournament. Tim won four IRB 7s tournaments with Australia including Wellington, Shanghai, Malaysia, and Brisbane.

Starting out as an assistant coach to Glen Ella of the Australian 7s team in 2006/2007, Tim now mentors numerous players in the Australian 7s Squads through Elite 7s! We can’t wait to chat micro-skills for both 7s and 15s!
