🏹 A BIG WEEKEND OF ARCHERY AT BAIRNSDALE FIELD ARCHERS 🏹
It’s been another fantastic weekend at Bairnsdale Field Archers, with plenty of arrows flying, some great scores, and most importantly, plenty of people enjoying what our club has to offer.
🏆 SUNDAY — BRANCH G 3D SHOOT
Today we welcomed 32 archers to BFA for our Branch G 3D shoot.
For 15 of our members, today was their first ever 3D shoot, with some also experiencing their first Branch shoot. A huge welcome to you all! We hope you enjoyed the challenge, the course and the atmosphere, and that today is the start of many more Branch shoots to come. 👏🏹
We couldn’t have asked for better shooting conditions, with the weather making for a perfect day on the course.
There were also some fantastic individual performances:
🎯 Jason — 780, a new PB by 2 points
🎯 Carl — 714, matching his PB
🎯 Bailey — 570, smashing his previous best by 108 points
🎯 David — 64 points better than his previous score set during the National Safari earlier this year
And in a great sibling battle, Jimmy and Maggie couldn’t be separated, both finishing on exactly 664 points! 😲
The changes to our 3D course, including the new shooting lanes and layout improvements, were also very positively received, with the feedback from today’s archers making all the hard work worthwhile.
A huge amount of work has gone into getting the Bottom Range ready, and today was a real testament to the efforts of Graham, David, Jason and all the members who helped both today and at last week’s working bee. What started as a different layout and some big changes has really come together into a course that everyone can enjoy. 💪
And we can’t forget our new canteen crew! A massive thank you to the two amazing people who helped keep our archers fed and looked after today. The support behind the scenes is a huge part of what makes these shoots such enjoyable days for everyone. 🌭🥤👏
🏹 SATURDAY — ABA CLUB SHOOT
Yesterday we held our usual Saturday ABA Handicap shoot, with 14 archers taking on the Top Range.
There may not have been any new PBs, but the competition was incredibly close, with almost half the field separated by just 8 points!
Andy Bennett and Mark Henger both finished on 398, with the result decided on countback. Mark took second place after being the first to drop 2 points, leaving Andy to take the win.
🥇 Andy Bennett — 398
🥈 Mark Henger — 398
🥉 Carl — 396
🥉 Jason — 396
A great weekend of shooting, competition and camaraderie at Bairnsdale Field Archers.
Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out, competed, supported the shoots or simply spent the weekend enjoying the club. This is what makes BFA such a great place to be. ❤️🏹
