Mackay Businesses. The local organising committee of the Oceania Athletics Championships, who are the combined athletics clubs in the Mackay region, are looking for businesses who can assist us with a loan of their Marquees for the duration of the event. With over 700 athletes attending the five day event, we would like to provide shade for our visiting athletes, officials, volunteers and public.

The event is being held from Tuesday 7 June to Saturday 11 June. Bump in is Monday 6 June.

Reminder: we do not have a club day tomorrow and look forward to meeting at the MARC today at 4pm (warm up) for our Interclub event with our athletic mates from Mackay Athletics Club , Sarina Athletics Club and Moranbah Athletics Club Inc.

There will be pizza and drinks for sale and a special Mother's Day raffle.

Don't forget that this Saturday, 7 May, is the first of our regions Interclub Meets, this one hosted by North Mackay Athletics. It is free to attend and is in place of our normal club day. Athletes attending still earn normal club day points for participation and PB's.

The Interclub is being held at the Mackay ARC and starts at 4pm through to 7pm. As per our normal club days, we all need to help in event duties.

Save the date for our Annual Carnival 13-14 August

Mackay and District Cross Country trials have been moved to the Goose-ponds this Thursday 5th May. Marshalling for all races will take place on the oval off Willis Street, North Mackay (between the dog park and John Breen Park). Unfortunately the recent wet weather has meant that Rowellan Park is not suitable for this event. Races will begin and end at this location as well. Parking is available at John Breen Park (off Malcolmson Street) and beside Pioneer Pool. It is advised that competitors arrive at least 30 mins before their race begins so they have time to warm up and be ready to start on time.
