💙 Honouring a True Bribie Little Athletics Legend 💙
Recently, Bribie District Little Athletics proudly awarded our very first Life Membership to a truly remarkable person, Hazel, whose contribution to our club and community will never be forgotten.
When Hazel first heard that Little Athletics was coming to Bribie Island, she immediately put her hand up to help. She didn't have children or grandchildren competing; she simply loved athletics and wanted to be involved. From that day forward, she became one of the foundations of our Centre.
Over the years, Hazel wore many hats — Secretary, Registrar, Chief Official, Uniform Officer, Mentor, Teacher, Supporter, and Friend. She shared her knowledge freely, guided countless volunteers, encouraged athletes to believe in themselves, and helped shape the club we know today.
Anyone who knew Hazel will remember her infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humour, and her ability to keep us all on track while making us smile. She was organised, dedicated, and always ready for the next athletics season, whether competing, officiating, or supporting others.
Hazel's influence extended far beyond the track. She touched the lives of so many athletes, families, volunteers, and officials. The knowledge she shared, the values she instilled, and the friendships she built continue to live on throughout our Centre.
Sadly, we lost Hazel in January, far too soon. While she is no longer with us, her legacy remains woven into the fabric of Bribie District Little Athletics.
We were honoured to present this Life Membership posthumously to her husband Ronnie and family. While no award could ever truly reflect everything Hazel gave to our club, we hope this recognition serves as a lasting tribute to her extraordinary dedication and service.
Thank you, Hazel. Your impact will never be forgotten, and you will always be part of the Bribie Little Athletics family. 💙🏃♀️🏅
