HotShots is our fun, game-based tennis program where kids build:

🔵 Blue Stage (3–5) – parent & child

🎾 TERM 1 TENNIS PROGRAMS – NOW OPEN 🎾
📍 Sandhurst Tennis | Starts this Wednesday

We’ve just finalised our Term 1 coaching schedule and are excited to launch our new Tennis Australia HotShots program — making it cheaper and more accessible than ever for families to get involved in tennis.

HotShots is an entry-level, participation-based pathway, delivered in an Auskick-style format that is:
✔️ Coach-led
✔️ Community & family focused
✔️ Highly active and game-based
✔️ Built around official Tennis Australia lesson plans

We strongly promote tennis as a family sport and encourage parent and grandparent involvement. To help keep HotShots affordable and fun, parent helpers are needed and encouraged within the groups, working under coach direction at all times.

🟡 TENNIS AUSTRALIA HOTSHOTS PROGRAM

HotShots Blue (Ages 3–4+)
👨‍👩‍👧 Parent–child class
An introduction to tennis through simple games that develop movement, coordination, balance, and confidence — with parents (or grandparents/carers) partnering their child on court.

💰 Price: $100 per term
🎁 New players: $90 (introductory offer – first lesson free trial)

HotShots PLAY – Red / Orange Stage (Ages 5–10+)
🎾 45 minute session
Our main entry-level group, delivered as a coach-led, Auskick-style PLAY program. Sessions are inclusive, fast-moving, and fun, supported by junior assistants and parent helpers, and guided by official Tennis Australia lesson plans.

🕒 Session Times (Term 1):
• Monday 4:30 pm
• Wednesday 4:15 pm
• Thursday 5:00 pm
• Sunday 9:00 am

🟢 SUNBIRDS COMPETITION PATHWAY
For players who love tennis and want to progress further, we offer a competition pathway through the Sandhurst Sunbirds, with junior and adult teams competing on Saturdays and training supported through our Sunbirds Academy.

We also offer private and semi-private lessons for juniors and adults. If you’re interested in individual coaching or tailored sessions, please get in touch.

TERM 2 ANNOUNCEMENT – Glow Tennis Is Coming!

With daylight savings ending, we’re excited to trial a bold new initiative at Sandhurst Tennis:

All coaching sessions after 5pm will now run with NO court lighting… and GLOW-IN-THE-DARK tennis balls, racquets, and wristbands.

We believe this new sensory training method will help players:
• Focus purely on the ball
• Develop elite-level night vision
• And look super cool while doing it

Players are encouraged to wear white or neon for max glow.
Spots will be limited due to the number of glow balls available.

We are so excited that it's Australian Open time (our favourite time of the year).

We are running some AO Holiday Programs for kids from 9:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday (14th & 21st) & Thursday (16th & 23rd) at the Sandhurst courts during this January's Australian Open. The cost is $25 for the 2 hours.

PLUS FOR THE ADULTS… come and join us for some Cardio Tennis sessions on Wednesday (15th & 22nd) evenings from 6:00-6:45pm. The cost is $20 for the session.

It is with a heavy heart that I would like to share the devastating news of the passing of Christopher Spencer, the Sandhurst Club’s former tennis coach.

Those who met Chris even for 5 minutes would know of his big heart, generosity, kindness and the joy he brought to so many kids and families in our community and beyond.

Chris was the childhood coach and mentor of some of our current coaches and he was many of our kids’ first tennis coach. 💔

My deepest condolences to his family, especially his 3 young children. 😢

Chris’ funeral will be held tomorrow 5 December in Springvale.
