A lovely paddle from the Port of Sale to the Swing Bridge then up the LaTrobe River and back on to the Thompson River. Lots of wildlife - Sea Eagles, Wedgies, a couple of Koalas and an Azure Kingfisher - to see and a beautiful, still, sunny day albeit a little crisp to start with.

Welcome to the Tarwin River Canoe Club .
We are a small ,friendly,mobile club located in Gippsland, Victoria , Australia.
Affiliated with Canoeing Victoria ,we paddle all year round in waters from Port Phillip to Mallacoota.
Members mainly paddle sea kayaks.
The club has three club boats for you to try before you buy your own sea kayak or estuary boat .

Paynesville - April 29 and 30 2017. Nine members took part in this lovely weekend paddle which started at the Silt Jetties on Saturday. Although calm when we started out, the wind was rather challenging later in the morning and we all earnt our pizza and relaxing night out at the wine bar. Sunday brought much better weather and a fabulous paddle around the canals and in to Lake King where we had the pleasure of the company of a pod of dolphins.

For anyone considering a kayak hoist: this is the one for which there was a link emailed out a few months ago. It cost me $36 and I was able to hoist the kayak off the car by myself. The kayak actually sits further in to the garage than it looks to be here, although, not by much and the garage door works neatly around it and the back door opens, swinging past the rudder. Works really well.
