Four Tasmanian athletes represented Australia at the under-20 Athletics World Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, from August 5 to 9.
Hammer thrower Xavier Leauma, 17, led the Tasmanian results, finishing eighth in the 6kg hammer final with 71.97m after qualifying sixth.
Decathlete Xavier Davie, 17, finished 15th, ran a 1500m personal best and broke his own state record with 7338 points.
Izzy Wing and Bailey Van Den Broek finished 17th and 18th in the heptathlon.
Tasmanian Institute of Sport advisor Jason Allie said the four were "ideally placed to be pushing for open national selection ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane".
