It's a matter of seconds again! We had a dead heat on times for 2nd in the second round of the Queensland Rally Champioship at Jimna (subject to a results check). Looks like 19 seconds off first. Congratulations to Josh Weidman and Ryan Preston for their win and thanks for an epic battle also involving Brads Hardaker and Jones. The tie break should give us second. So taking out the flying finish sign on the last stage was clearly fully justified! Thanks to the FF official for recording the moment, and apologies for any excess excitement :)

Coffs Harbour, 11 October 2025. Final round of the QRC and a round of the NSWRC.

Result required: A decent amount of points to secure the Queensland Rally Championship.

Result: 3rd outright and 2nd in QRC.

Season result: State Championship number 5. Yay!

Thank you to the team from Coffs Harbour & Districts Sporting Car Club, and the helpers from BSCC that made a great event happen, and reintroduce night rallying to the sport. What a blast!

Thank you to our regular service crew of Andrew, Glenn and Jamie for all their help throughout the year. Thanks you to Menzies John and Oscar for their event contributions, and a massive thank you to Nick Ashwin at NA Motorsport for season long support and a huge effort to get the Yaris to Coffs Harbour.

The Imbil Rally Sprint and a nice win. Left to right Pip Bennett, rally codriving legend, Brad Hardaker (impressive debut sir), Ian (great drive), yours truly and the legendary Nathan Quinn and top co-driver Dave Green. The Sunday Jimbil Rally Sprint was a different story, with a blown motor while leading :( . Congratulations to winners Erik Johnson and Larisa Biggar, who edged out Nathan and Dave. Rally Queensland 2025. Flat in 6th! Maybe a little more caution next time :) The shorter wheelbase of the Yaris makes a difference (there she bucks !)

The first run (of any kind) in the Yaris and so much to learn! Ian did an amazing job coping with left hand drive and different everything in terms of brakes, steering. handling, power band and suspension. Thanks to Nick Ashwin, Nico Leandro and all the service crew in getting the car fit for competition and keeping it that way. Still lots to do! 2nd place was a nice surprise :)
