Wow 🤩 $3.5 million invested into this project

The Ocean Grove District Ride Centre is coming to life. From flowy trails to technical jump lines, this world-class facility is shaping up to be an incredible spot for Geelong and the Bellarine. 🚴‍♂️

Our team, along with our partners World Trail, are working hard to get everything ready for you and make it the best possible riding experience. 🛠️

The site is still under construction, so for now we’re keeping the gates closed. 🚧

⚠️ This helps everyone stay safe because unfinished features have hidden hazards.

🎯 Keeping off for now protects the track’s shape – riding on unfinished surfaces can damage the specially designed jumps and landings.

⏱️ Your cooperation gets us closer to the grand opening sooner – we’re on track for mid-year.

Every bit of patience now means amazing riding later. Thanks for being part of making the centre the best it can be! 🙏

A quick update: We’re about to hit go on our application for the Tiny Towns Grant 👏

We’re applying for a concept design for bike skills trails including dirt jumps at Lord Nelson Park. Cost is just over $12,000.

We had to contribute 20% of the cost of the project to be eligible for this grant and we’ve secured some bike track funds from SCAN (St Arnaud Community Action Network), along with a couple of donations from community members.

If we are successful, we will then have a plan that we can work towards fundraising for construction.

This will take time. It’s been two years since we first started applying for grants and we haven’t been successful yet, but hopefully this time we are on the right track 🤞🙏

Funding will be announced around June.

St Arnaud is ready for a bike track 👏 There's an option when you sign our petition to express why a track is important to you. We've had over 250 responses. These are just some of them.

The big drivers are supporting mental health for youth and all ages, physical activity, promoting healthy lifestyles, tourism, safe places for our kids, simple, positive fun.

One little typo, we need $400,000 not $40,000 😅 Bike tracks aren’t cheap! But we can get it done 💪

We went to the Celebrating Community event tonight. We heard from many community groups doing amazing things in our region and had the chance to share our vision too. Lots of inspiration and ideas. Thank you everyone and to Northern Grampians Shire Council for bringing us all together 👏

These tracks aren’t just piles of dirt. They’re signs of healthy outdoor activity, community, and development. When they’re destroyed, it sends a message that there’s no space for young people to safely and freely explore their passions.

We’re asking for a purpose-built bike track in St Arnaud where kids and all ages can:
💛 Ride safely off the roads
💛 Build skills and confidence
💛 Create a positive community
💛 Stay active and off screens

Word is getting around about our big idea for a bike track in St Arnaud ☺️👏 Good work everyone!

The MTB Club has been invited along by the Northern Grampians Shire Council to be part of a panel of speakers at their event on Tuesday Oct 7th. This is a great opportunity to share our journey so far and learn from other community groups - perhaps some opportunities where we can work together 🤝

If you are a member of a local sporting club, community group or not-for-profit organisation and want to learn more about council funding opportunities, come along for a celebration of community spirit with likeminded people who might be trying to achieve similar goals or face similar problems.

Be inspired by the incredible projects making a difference across our shire, including those brought to life with support from the council’s Community Grants Program. Council staff will also be on hand to help answer questions and clarify areas of the grant submission process you may be struggling with.
