Massive thanks to Ronstan Australian & Tom Stutchbery for the support of supplying us with 4 new Winches & 4 new Ronstan blocks tricking our boat up to the next level.
Tom has done a amazing job putting this video together and a great crew member for the ORCV Double Handed race where we achieved
1st PHS, 3rd ORC & 6th AMS in our division
2nd PHS, 4th ORC & 7th AMS Overall.
A great day on the water albeit a little lighter breeze than we would have liked.

Looking forward to pushing hard and achieving some more great results in future races and regattas.

C**k of the Bay 26-12-25 & Petersville Regatta 27-30th
5 Great days of racing.

C**k of the bay was done 2 handed in 20-25 knots of breeze. We sailed 2 handed and led the Adams 10 fleet for most of the day making the wrong tactical call at the end just missing out to Rage who sailed a very good race.

Petersville was another great regatta with 6 Adams 10s reduced to 5 after day 1 with Choas breaking the forestay and unable to get a replacement in time.

We made plenty of mistakes Day 1 with 2 infringements an incorrectly reading the Sailing Instructions meaning we did 2 X 720s instead of 2 X 360s. Still managed 4th on handicap with some great speed.

Day 2 was a very light day which we found an Achilles heel with some very slow downwind speed which we will need to work on.

Lucky the breeze shut down and we caught right back up only to miss the shorten course and the finish line which cost us a couple of places as racing is very tight.

Day 3 saw the day abandoned due to no breeze. So we all swam All day and enjoyed the company and sunshine.

Day 4
Delayed start due to no wind then 25-30+ knots came through. We still had the J1 up but managed it well with the other 10s on J2 & J3s
We were the only one to put a kite up and got 15.9kts top speed, just managing line honours to win the race on all 3 divisions.

Awesome few days sailing and looking forward to Festival of Sails in a few weeks followed by Adams 10 States a few weeks after that.

Well done To Dougo on One Out of The Box for getting 1st on all 3 handicaps.

Some great shots of the boat and crew from Friday twilight. 8th over the line in the sternchaser and 1st on AMS handicap. 1 very tight mark rounding just before the finish and even got some quick kite practice in before the start. Boat and crew performing really well this season and looking forward to a few big Regattas in the next few months.

Another great day on the water for Club Championship race 3. With 15-25 knots
We went for the J1 which was absolutely the right decision, as it was mostly 15 knots only occasionally getting above 20.
Nailed the start to lead the fleet away while Shimmer was OCS after missing the fact the lights came on 4s after GPS time so they started 4s early. Got to the top mark in good shape 3rd around just behind Unprecedented, overtook them on the hoist and the Symmetrical kite was just the perfect kite for today gaining over the Assy by minutes on a awesome run back to the club from McCrae top speed of 14 knots. Shimmer unfortunately blew the clew out of their kite which allowed us to briefly take the lead back.
1 last Windward Leeward out to SB1 & back was a perfect way to end the day.
Taking out all 3 handicaps and so close to line honours against the 50ft is an excellent result.

The boat is so fast at the moment we’re very happy with the work we’ve done underneath and of course you can’t do any of this without an amazing crew.

1 more Club Championship race this side of Xmas then C**k of the Bay (Double Handed) & Petersville regatta after that.

Great Race 2 of the club Championship and great to come away with a 1st & 2nd on ORC & AMS, PHS result looks worse than we performed building quite a lead only for the fleet to bring breeze down to us and close the gap. But that’s yacht racing 5th in the end but only 26s off 2nd place, some fun at the start with close racing between the Sydney 32s and keeping the bigger and Faster Vincitore honest for the first half of the race.
Light and shifty with plenty of snakes and ladders. Looking forward to next weeks race.

The Rawhide team attended the 3 day Lipton cup regatta over the weekend.
3 very different days of racing.

Friday invitational very windy and wet with a short Windward leeward around fixed marks.

Saturday was a light 5-7 knot breeze with 3 back to back Windward leewards, our fractional spinnaker just didn’t have the punch of those rated with Mastheads but we still had very good results with a 4,3,2. Even beating another Adams with Masthead over the line.

Sunday was a 12-18 knot breeze 15Nm Passage race, Div 1 & 2 started together for this race, we elected to hang back wanted to go right and it paid a treat, we rounded the top mark first and next looked back, a shy reach with the kite up while others elected not to gave us a very good lead and much faster boats took over and hour to overtake us. We eventually wrestled back the lead on the reach and with a very good and early kite set. Everyone followed us in from there.

Always great to attend other clubs regattas and race other boats. Next up for us is the C**k of the Bay on Boxing Day & Festival of sails over the Aus day weekend.

Well we may have been quiet this winter but we’ve been very busy. Out of the water for almost 3 months. 6 full days of Sanding to removed the Antifoul. A snapped Rudder Pintle, Cracked & water logged Rudder. It’s been a lot of work. We bought a brand new rudder from the class association and fitted it with the new Pintles to the boat.

Removed 2 plugs in the hull from an old paddle wheel and water inlet point for an inboard engine the boat previously had before our time.

We filled the holes and faired them to match the hull. Lifted the boat off the trolley to refair the bottom of the keel. Then we got 3 coats on Interprotect & Antifoul on and replaced the boot stripe, for a fast and fresh new look.

The boat has come up looking awesome and we’re looking forward to the upcoming season with some big events planned.
Lipton Cup (Nov)
C**k of the Bay (Dec)
Petersville Regatta (Dec)
Festival of Sails (Jan)
A10 States (Feb)
Sail Peninsula (Feb)

Should be some very tight and competitive racing.

Big thanks to Sarge & Krzysztof for doing both delivering the boat both to and from safety beach.

What an amazing season!!

We restored this boat that was literally going to be throw to the tip by the previous owner back to full race spec condition. As far as we’re aware it is the oldest boat in the Victorian fleet. Thanks to Ronstan Sailing for all the hardware we were able to restore to boat with, and Doyle Sails Victoria for the amazing sails that have provided us these great results.

1st Friday Twilight Series 1
3rd Ronstan C**k of the Bay
1st Petersville Regatta
1st Sail Peninsula A10 Division
3rd A10 State Titles
1st Club Championship Series

None of this would be possible without the help of our crew. Thanks to everyone who sailed on the boat in the numerous regattas and series across the season. We’re looking forward to the winter season and the upcoming season as well.
