A stunning day at Safety Beach! ☀️⛵
Warm sunshine, a beach bustling with people and plenty of power craft out on the water — a sure sign of what’s to come as summer approaches!
The unmistakable buzz (or should we say roar!) of jet skis filled the air, accompanied by that all-too-familiar whiff of petrol! 😜
Unfortunately, while the sunshine was in abundance, the wind was not quite so generous!
The keelboats managed to get away, but alas, as the breeze continued to fade, the entire fleet eventually conceded defeat and retired — surrendering to the conditions!
Thanks to Ross (RO) and our fabulous on-water team (Simon, Peter, Luke & Vince) we managed to squeeze in two short races, shortening the course on both occasions to ensure we actually came away with some results!
Eventually, it was AP over A for the OTB fleet, and the lure of a cool drink back at the clubhouse was certainly a welcome consolation!

What a day! ⛵️☀️

Today marked the start of our first Junior Sailing Program for the 2026–27 season, and what a fantastic start it was!

We welcomed 9 new families and 15 junior sailors who have never sailed before or have had very little experience on the water. With 35 juniors registered for the program, an incredible 31 kids arrived this morning ready to get started!

As these young sailors begin their sailing journeys, we look forward to watching their confidence grow, their skills develop and new friendships form along the way. 💙

A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteer instructors who gave up their Sunday morning to help get the program underway. You certainly had your hands full with such a big group, but you handled it with ease!

Here’s to a fantastic season of learning, laughter, friendships and plenty of sailing adventures ahead! ⛵️👏

Today’s “View from the Start Boat” - Great to be back on the water again and what a cracker of a day with a great fleet of OTB & Keelboats welcoming in the 2026/2027 Season.

A great time was had by all, with wonderful entertainment throughout the afternoon from local musician, Ross McMahon and a delicious spread thanks to Snooks Catering and team. Huge big thank you to everyone involved in the day !
