Day 17 Bikepacking Hiroshima-Tokyo. That’s a wrap for bikepacking Japan. Today rode from Fuchu in the western suburbs to accommodation near Tokyo Station. What we thought would be quite daunting proved to be relatively easy. There are so many people riding bicycles in Japan & so many shared pathways & bicycle lanes it’s not too difficult to find your way around. However; comparing Australia to Japan is like comparing apples to oranges. Japan do it well because it fits with Japan. Thank you Japan, it has been thoroughly enjoyable. We hope we will be back soon. 🇯🇵 ❤️

ANZAC Day 2026❤️. Day 8 Bikepacking Hiroshima-Tokyo. Today we made our way from Nara to Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest lake. Being Saturday there was so much sport & physical activity going on. Cycling, running, walking, fishing, softball, rugby, soccer, rowing, kayaking. Later we went to the local public Onsen. These are in every town & used by so many people. Great to soak in the relaxing warm water after a day’s pedalling. 🧖‍♂️ 🧖‍♀️
