2026 RYE-SORRENTO WAVES TEAM OF THE YEAR

Announced at our Presentation Day on Sunday, we’re incredibly proud to unveil our 2026 Team of the Year!

This team is a wonderful reflection of the incredible talent, commitment & growth across our entire Waves family. From U10s right through to U18s, these girls have been recognised by our coaching staff for their stand-out efforts, consistency, determination & impact throughout the 2026 season.

It’s so exciting to see individual efforts being recognised, but even more exciting to see just how much talent we have across every age group. The future of the Waves is looking very bright!

A huge congratulations to every girl selected — being named in the Team of the Year is a fantastic achievement & something you should all be incredibly proud of.

What a way to wrap up the 2026 season!

Yesterday was the perfect day to celebrate our incredible Waves girls, & what a day it was! The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious, spirits were high & there were plenty of smiles, laughs & proud moments shared across our Waves family.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the trip down to Shark Park to celebrate the end of the season & cheer on all of our amazing girls. It was so special seeing our teams, families, coaches & supporters all together, celebrating everything these girls have achieved throughout the year.

A very special congratulations to all of our award winners! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves & the fantastic seasons you’ve had. Your hard work, commitment & dedication have certainly been noticed & deserve to be celebrated.

But yesterday wasn’t just about the girls who took home an award. Every single one of our players should be proud of what they have contributed this season. Not every effort comes with a trophy, but every effort matters.

Footy is a team game, & every girl plays an important part in making her team what it is — from the big moments on game day, to the encouragement from the sidelines, the training sessions, the tackles, the goals, the improvement, the friendships & simply showing up and giving it a go.

It takes a whole team to make a team great & we couldn’t be prouder of every one of our Waves girls.

Thank you for an amazing 2026 season & for bringing the energy, enthusiasm & community spirit that makes this club so special.

Now it’s time to celebrate, enjoy the off-season & make a few more memories along the way!

In a contest that had everything, our girls fought right until the final moments, going down by just one point in the final minute.

The scoreboard might say one thing, but it certainly doesn’t tell the story of the game. The intensity, determination, pressure & effort from both teams made this an incredible contest to watch. Our girls gave absolutely everything they had.

A huge congratulations to the on a fantastic win & a hard-fought game.

And to our Waves girls — be incredibly proud. You’ve created memories, friendships & moments that will stay with you long after the final siren. The way you fought for each other & never gave up says everything about this group.

The countdown is over. The big day has arrived.

Months of training, early mornings, tough games, big wins, lessons, laughs & plenty of moments in between have all led us here.

Today, our Tides get to step onto the biggest stage of their season & play for a premiership.

They’ve already made us incredibly proud — now it’s time to enjoy every second of this moment and show everyone exactly what The Tides are made of.

Once the celebrations at Shark Park wrap up, we’re keeping the party going!

Our Waves Under 18s Presentation will be the perfect way to finish off the 2026 season — & everyone is invited!

Sunday 13th September
4:00pm – 7:00pm
Terry’s Karaoke & Piano Bar, Rye
$8 per person — unlimited karaoke room time!

All Waves players, families & friends are invited to come along & celebrate our Under 18s, sing a few songs and finish the season together.

And we’re opening the invitation to our brother teams at & too — come along & join the fun!
