2. Avoid Muscle Stiffness — staying in an ice bath for too long can actually make muscles tighter, slowing recovery instead of improving it.

3. Protect Blood Circulation — extended ice baths can put stress on the heart and blood vessels as the body works continuously to maintain normal core temperature.

4. Optimal Recovery Window — research suggests that about 10–15 minutes is enough to gain the benefits without the risks. Longer ice bath sessions may do more harm than good, prevent full recovery, and may even blunt muscle adaptation, especially after strength training.
