Rutherglen Bowling Club Inc. Rutherglen Bowling Club is located in Murray Street, Rutherglen Australia. We have two grass greens and new members always welcome.

We are a volunteer run bowling club playing in the Ovens and Murray Bowls Region.

The Rutherglen Bowling Club Annual General Meeting and Presentation day was held on Sunday the 26th of April. The meeting was very successful with the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer remaining the same and all other positions being filled. The awards saw Michael Dickins as Men’s champion with a very successful year also winning the men’s pairs. Bev Reichman also a had a very successful year, winning women’s club champion, handicapped singles, mixed pairs and runner up in the club triples. Club winners and event information is below.

At the annual general meeting Steve Jones was presented with the Club Person of the year. Steve goes far beyond his position as Club secretary producing a monthly newsletter, spending many hours reviewing the clubs constitution and assisting the treasurer with the MYOB accounting program.

At the annual general meeting John Crossman ( S***t ) was presented with the Rutherglen Bowling Club Meritorious Service Award for his services to the club for his role as green keeper/ maintenance of the greens and surrounds. Christine Flanagan was awarded the Rutherglen Bowling Club Meritorious Service Award at the annual handover. Christine was recognised for the many services she has given as a player, coach, selector, Club President and committee member over many years. She was also very active with catering and the instigator of the clubs Happy Hour on Thursday training nights. Christine is pictured as past club president and with some of the many club competitions she won, this year winning the ladies pairs champions with her daughter Claire.

Graeme Goudie received the very prestigious award of Life Membership of the Rutherglen Bowling Club at the annual general meeting and presentation day held on Sunday the 26th of April. Greame has been helping at the club for almost 40 years in the positions of financial advisor, business house bowls facilitator for 32 years, pennant selector, team manager, greens maintenance and is currently the bar manager. Greame didn’t believe he was worthy of the award and was very humbled to receive it. The award was presented by President Ross Rankin with Greame’s family in attendance.

Mens Handicap Final today to finsh of the Season.
John Poterhouse Flannery defeating Darren Soda Ash Simpson 25 to 24 after a massive 35 ends. John got of to a great start at -6 winning the first for ends to go to a 2 nil lead. Simmo won the next 4 ends to lead by 5-2. Flanners then went on a 15 shot streak to lead 17 to 5. With the game looking over Simmo got going to bring it back a bit 11-19 down, Then 16 -23 down. In the end flanners won the last end for 1 to win a nail biter 25-24. Thanks for the boys letting me do a live stream that soughta worked and for Langdon for Marking. AGM NEXT SUNDAY
