We've recently been contacted by Elite Scorecards, offering free scorecards to the Rutherglen Bowling Club.

Please be aware that this company contacts clubs and then approaches local businesses seeking paid "sponsorships" to cover printing costs which is quite substantial. We have been made aware some businesses in our town have being approached.

The Rutherglen Bowling Club does not require any scorecards, so we ask our local businesses to please exercise caution and not feel obligated to engage with these calls on the Club's behalf.

We value our local businesses and greatly appreciate the ongoing support you provide to the Rutherglen Bowling Club. We want to ensure no one is caught out by unexpected costs for something that is not required by the Club.

Our deepest sympathies go to the Morris Family.

It is with great sadness that we say VALE to Mick Morris OAM.

Mick was a treasured member of the Howlong Golf Resort, joining the Club in 1965 as its very first member. He was proudly granted Life Membership in 1980 in recognition of his incredible contribution to our Club.

Mick was instrumental in the construction of our current bowling greens, with Bowling Green 1 proudly named in his honour.

He was a valued and much loved member of our Bowls team for many years, with his final game played at Benalla at the remarkable age of 96.

We will miss Mick's smiling face, his friendship and his presence around the Club. His contribution and legacy will always be remembered by the Howlong Golf Resort.

Our sincerest condolences to the Morris family at this very sad time.

Rest peacefully, Mick. You will be greatly missed.

The Rutherglen Bowling Club Annual General Meeting and Presentation day was held on Sunday the 26th of April. The meeting was very successful with the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer remaining the same and all other positions being filled. The awards saw Michael Dickins as Men’s champion with a very successful year also winning the men’s pairs. Bev Reichman also a had a very successful year, winning women’s club champion, handicapped singles, mixed pairs and runner up in the club triples. Club winners and event information is below.

At the annual general meeting Steve Jones was presented with the Club Person of the year. Steve goes far beyond his position as Club secretary producing a monthly newsletter, spending many hours reviewing the clubs constitution and assisting the treasurer with the MYOB accounting program.

At the annual general meeting John Crossman ( S***t ) was presented with the Rutherglen Bowling Club Meritorious Service Award for his services to the club for his role as green keeper/ maintenance of the greens and surrounds. S***t always goes above and beyond his job and is well respected by the club members for the fabulous job he does.
