The KBA has made the tough decision to not enter the BIGV competition for the 2026 season.

After recently signing new 2 year contracts which showed unwavering commitment to the association, Championship Men’s Head Coach Cameron Andre & Division 1 Women’s Head Coach Simo Pajdic have been released from their contractual obligation with the KBA to enable them to explore other opportunities should they desire.

We would like to also acknowledge newly appointed Youth League Coaches Naoum Lazis and Michelle Garnegie, who in a very small period of time made significant contributions to our association.

We are committed to working with Basketball Victoria to ensure re-entry into BIGV for the 2027 season.

The Keysborough Basketball Association is pleased to announce the inclusion of a Youth League Women’s team into our stable of BIGV teams for 2026 and beyond.

The inclusion of a Youth League Women’s team to the BIGV program will solidify the pathway for Cougars athletes from VJBL to BIGV.

Furthermore, we’re pleased to announce Michelle Carnegie as its inaugural BIGV Youth League Women’s Head Coach.

Michelle served as an Assistant Coach with our BIGV D2W in 2025, prior to that Michelle was a U18.1 VJBL level along with being a Lead Assistant at BIGV Youth League 1 Women.

Michelle is deeply committed to developing up and coming athletes, guiding them to reach their full potential. She places a strong emphasis on fostering growth, building confidence, and helping players achieve their individual and team goals. Combined with her sound technical abilities and deep understanding of the game, Michelle provides athletes with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to excel at the next level.

BIGV Exhibition Game ‼️

A Keysborough Cougars Women’s Select team will be taking on the Australian Geckos on Sunday 5th of October, tipping off at 12.30pm at Rowville Secondary College.

The Geckos have qualified for the deaf olympics to be held in Japan in November, but incredibly all players / coaches / staff need to pay their own way due to a lack of funding.

All door takings from the Cougars V Geckos game will be donated in an effort to help.

A ‘Go Fund Me’ page has also been established, where donations can be made.

🚨 NEW YLM HEAD COACH 🚨

The Keysborough Cougars are thrilled to announce Naoum Lazis as our new Youth League Men’s Head Coach!

A familiar face to Cougar Nation, Naoum was a fan favourite and fierce competitor across 4 seasons with our Senior Men’s squad. Now, he’s stepping into a new chapter, bringing the same passion and leadership courtside.

Naoum has coached at VJBL U16 VC level and was the lead assistant in guiding our Youth League Men to promotion from YL1 to the Victorian Youth Championship.

Known for his tactical nous and relentless drive, Naoum is ready to build a strong pathway for our Youth League athletes — winning games, developing future stars and strengthening the bridge to our Senior Men’s program.
