🌿💦 Wujal Wujal Falls!

One of the beautiful stops on our Cooktown tours — tucked away amongst the lush rainforest of Wujal Wujal.

August is right in the dry season, so the falls can be a little more relaxed than during the wet season, but the clear water, rainforest surroundings and peaceful atmosphere make it a beautiful time to visit. 🌴☀️

For all those coming up the Bloomfield Track, safe travels

I have just been advised today by TMR of the following information in relation to the closures of the Wallaby Creek bridge and ask that you share this information around so that disruptions may be minimal.

“Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out bridge inspections and servicing at the Wallaby Creek bridge on Shiptons Flat Road.

Crews will be on site from Saturday 8 August 2026 to Monday 10 August 2026. For the safety of road users and maintenance crews intermittent full closures will be in place from 7am to 5pm. Queued traffic will be coordinated by traffic controllers and let through in each direction at the beginning of every hour.

Work crews will ensure emergency service vehicles and school buses are provided with access if required.

Variable Message Signs (VMSs) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS”
