Winter Members Day – August
Well, we’ve done it again! Our second Winter Members Day was held at the club on Sunday, 23rd August, with 44 members and guests turning up to enjoy good company, plenty of laughs, and the magnificent pizzas from Jetty Pizzas, who are also one of our fabulous sponsors.

And, as always, winners are grinners! 🎉

Ros Couacaud took home the Members Jackpot Draw — so it’s Milky Bars on Ros this month! 🍫
Eddy won the Bistro 62 meal voucher — dinner sorted!
Robyn and Bob each won a bottle of sparkling wine 🥂
Peter A and Mike H each walked away with a bottle of Shiraz — very fitting, really. 🍷
And Doug and Elaine won the chockies, with Elaine also putting in the hard yards as our brilliant photographer for the day. Multitasking at its finest!
Our resident entertainer, Garry Chilcot, was once again in fine form. And, if rumours are to be believed, “Oh Lord, It’s Hard to Be Humble” made another appearance on the request list.

Elaine also handed out the monthly newsletter, which this month features “This Is Your Life” — Kevin Hutchison.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising these awesome days, to our wonderful sponsors, and of course to all the members and guests who came along and helped make it such a great day.

32 fabulous people enjoyed the day playing social bowls on our centre green today, 22.8.2026. We had clouds and sunshine and a fair bit of wind 🌬️. Robyn was in charge of the music which was thoroughly enjoyed. Again, we had first and second game winners walking away with the 💵💵💵. Put your name down for our social games Thursdays and Saturdays by contacting Maz G or get down to the club where the sheets are located in the cabinet outside the door!

28 crazy bowlers played our social game today. As you can see we did have a few greyish clouds but we also enjoyed some stunning sunshine. We had from, West Rosebud Bowls, Psychedelic Steve (zoom in to check out the shirt).. To keep in with the era of Steves shirt we had 50s and 60 music to groove along too. Our sponsor of the day was Prime Signs ..... We are doing this again this Saturday, so put your name down on the list available in the glass cabinet at the club or call Maz G!!

33 of us played social bowls today, 15th August. 2 games of 12 ends, triples (ok, you do the math, there were a couple of teams of 4 😜) There was a slight sprinkle of rain but that didn't damper anyone's spirit.

Today we had beginners, winners and grinners!! We also welcomed back many of those who have been up North!!

We are playing again Thursday and Saturday, so if you want to join us, get down to the club and put your name down on the list or contact Maz G!

24 of us played a social game today, 13th August including Steve from West Rosebud Bowling Club , who turned up as a Liquorice Allsort. (See if you can pick him out). We played two games of 12 ends, 3 bowl triples. Again, there was plenty of laughter and music (a few of us were bopping along to it)! Well unfortunately the boys got pipped at the post after an amazing effort last night. Thank you team for giving your all each week and letting the peninsula know what the Rosellas are all about! Thank you to Halftime Heroes for televising the games each week and for Karingal Bowling Club for hosting this event. We wish Hamer Time and CSV all the best for next week!

We had 19 people join us for social bowls today including Steve from West Rosebud Bowls club, who was feeling just a tad "Corny!! He always wears these colourful outfits to keep us entertained. We had music, laughter and winners. If you want to join us for fun and frivolity, we play social games Thursday and Saturdays throughout the winter months.
