Today marks the beginning of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori language week) here in Aotearoa.

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori provides an opportunity to celebrate te reo Māori, from wherever you are and however you choose. It encourages all New Zealanders to promote the use of the Māori language, which, along with New Zealand Sign Language, is an official language of the country.

Here are some things you can do for your Māori Language moment. It could be as easy as greeting everyone you see with 'kia ora', or starting your ‘Huitīma’ Teams, or ‘Huitopa’ Zoom meeting with "mōrena".
