Early 6am start in Sydney. Rain doesn't stop but neither do we.

40 min of a light, continuous routine in the park and then 10 min of stairs.
Train for Gain's gentle approach has achieved great results for many years.

One of our easier mornings but it was a beautiful morning.

After 35 years of training clients and myself I can say that it has been the hard physical exercise, a combination of good strength endurance exercise and the correct combination of aerobic with anaerobic that has achieved great results.
Fifty, Sixty and Seventy year olds who have been at it for 10/20/30 years have the physical changes whereby they can maintain the body, they can train harder than most 20 year olds and look at least 10 years younger. More importantly the bodies are functioning like they are 20/30 years younger.
This has only been achieved from pushing the body hard in the correct way.

Unfortunatley these benefits are very, very long term and if you tell someone at 20 they have fo keep up this tough regime for 30 to 40 years to achieve these results most people don't have the discipline and foresight to maintain this sort of a program with such a long runway.

A bigger problem however is that a 50 or 60 year old who has not maintained this type of a program will find it almost impossible to start.

These results I see definitely build into the system over many years.
The benefits are hard to explain unless you see them first hand but the biggest physical benefits are the functionality of the body and also how the body stays young, fit and strong.

It does become too late to start.
If someone says it's never too late well they aren't talking about the results I see.
They are being kind.
But there is definitely a point that it becomes too late.

Too much fun.

Juices and smoothies.

Juices and smoothies is a very complicated topic.

There is a lot of sugar in fruit juice, no fibre and no chewing resistance, and your sugar level jumps causing a high production of insulin that can lead to cravings and potential weight gain.
Smoothies even if they are made of healthy ingredients are easier to consume and can lead to over eating. So if you are making your own at home or buying them over the counter you need to know what is in them, the calories etc.
They can be used to control your intake but it would be better to understand what you are taking in, and even better to be guided by a professional, especially if you are trying to lose weight.

The easiest advice to follow without getting professional guidance is if you want to lose weight CHEW your fruit and vegetables.
