“The IFA Youth League allows us to stay with our players longer and continue building their development journey.”
🗣️We caught up with Leonardo Pinto from Ellë Football Academy to hear his thoughts on the significance of the IFA Youth League and what it means for long-term player development.
⚽️Leonardo reflected on the longer term vision of creating a genuine 11v11 Youth League platform that gives academies the opportunity to develop players over a longer period within one consistent, professional environment.
🛡️For Ellë Football Academy, development goes far beyond technical ability alone. It’s about building players through every stage of the journey; from 7v7 to 9v9 and eventually into full-sided football, while also shaping character, discipline and human values along the way.
📈Leonardo believes strongly in the importance of players working with one academy for as long as possible, allowing academies to create continuity, trust and a stronger developmental foundation before players eventually progress to the next level of the game.
🚀The IFA Youth League now provides academies with the platform to continue that process into the older age groups, creating an environment where players can be challenged, educated and developed consistently over many years.
🏟️Leonardo highlighted the quality of the environment being created across the league, with academy directors, coaches and parents all contributing to a culture focused on genuine player development and healthy competition.
⚔️As the inaugural season continues, Leonardo believes this is only the beginning of something special with the standards, professionalism and overall level of the competition set to continue rising year after year.
🔥For academies like Ellë Football Academy, the opportunity to continue working with players they’ve developed since U7s and U8s is what makes the Youth League so exciting.
Because at the heart of it all…
❤️ Developing players is the passion that drives everything they do.
