Wave Loading rep schemes are designed to expose the nervous system to a range of intensities in a balanced manner.

As the lifter advances through the several waves of intensities, the initial exposure to a certain set of repetitions will prepare the body to exert its maximum capacity. Most people will gain from two waves, while experienced lifters may profit from three or more waves.

Basically, we're attempting to "trick" the nervous system into momentarily unlocking somewhat higher performance potential for a limited time.

Below is a two WAVE rep scheme that i used today:

BB SUMO SQUAT 6x 6/4/2/6/4/2

Set 1 90kg x6
Set 2 95kg x4
Set 3 100kg x2
Set 4 95kg x6
Set 5 100Kg x4
Set 6 110Kg x2
