No Refs, No Play, let’s get behind our friends in the black and white with support, it’s not an easy job to do.

An Open Letter to:

“Insert PLAYER / COACH / PARENT / SPECTATOR”,

The leading cause of referees quitting the game we love is abuse.

Each and every one of you can change that.

As much as abuse is causing referees to quit, respect by all leads to their retention.

Respect = retention = enjoyment for all.

Everyone has a part to play.

No Refs = No Play

Respect the refs on game day.

What a day of top quality basketball, the Romsey girls won the quarter final against Sale, to then face Warrnambool in the semi final.

A back and forth game which saw our girls go down by 1 in the end.

The girls have now finished 3rd in the state, an outstanding effort for a group representing such a small area.

“I could not be more proud of the girls, they left everything on the court this weekend, we battled injuries and exhaustion as we had to play with only 8 fit members of the team. Before the tournament started our goal was to finish top 10 and we finished 3rd, I’m over the moon” coach Simon Liebelt

Day 2 at U14 county champs saw the Romsey girls win another 3 games straight, it was another level up and some very tough competition.

Congratulations to the team who have advanced to the Division 1 playoffs tomorrow.

With the ups of a 7 game win streak brings the unfortunate low of ARA the baby of the team, out with a serious ankle injury!

However simon ( coach ) was positive and was overheard asking if she was right to go for tomorrow’s game, we know he was joking, or was he?

Day 1 at U14 county champs saw the Romsey girls win 4 games straight against some good competition.

Day 2 brings whole new challenge as the team moves into the D1/2 pool.

The U14 - 2022 Junior Country Championships are on this weekend in Traralgon.

Our best and brightest athletes from the Romsey girls program will compete over 3 days and play against other associations right across country Victoria.

Our U14 girls will be competing hard for the title.
