Our Story
As our name suggests, we are proud to be representative of both communities of Wallumbilla and Surat which, in total, boast a modest combined population of less than 1,000 residents. The two communities enjoy a proud history of producing legendary rugby league players in years gone by and it was inevitable that together, they would form a genuine presence in the Roma and District Rugby League competition. Under our present name, we first entered into the R&DRL competition in 2004 and were the A-Grade Minor Premiers in our maiden season. Our A-Grade have tasted Grand Final success in 2006 & 2012 with our junior grades performing just as well since our commencement into the competition. The future is looking particularly healthy as a result of the transformation of the R&DJRL competition from being governed through the school system to the recently introduced club format and we look forward to a long and prosperous association with the newly formed "Benderoo Bulls".
We are the only club in the competition hosting two "home” venues and this has been made possible with the generous support of the Maranoa Regional Council and the many volunteers who have devoted their time and energies over the last 15 years.
