Will you help me raise some essential funds for cancer research?

Later this year, I am racing in the iconic Noosa Triathlon just North of Brisbane AU. It's the biggest race of its kind in the southern hemisphere and regularly sees over 5,000 participants in the main event alone. As a "standard" distance event, it's a 1.5km Swim, 40km Ride, and a 10km Run as fast as you can manage. I've done this race a few times, but this year, I am attempting to race on behalf of Team Smiddy, expressly set up to raise funds for the Mater Foundation & Hospital here in Brisbane for all their essential world-class cancer research and treatment programs.

To be allowed to represent this team, I must first raise at least $1000 in donations. This requirement applies to all ~200 people on the team. Since 2006 the Smiddy program has raised over $13 million for the cause, and I would love the chance to do my part. Can you help me?

The ultra run that came and went.
Clint Eastwood 2022, the easiest and hardest 100km+ run I’ve ever done, and I’ve done 4 in the last year. Nutrition was good, hydration was good, running muscles all cruising and no real fatigue. But one week out from the event I developed a small pain on the side of my shin. It was minor, and cleared for running. But what I now know is that it was a stress fracture, and in the last three hours it dig in hard and ground me down. Hey, at least I know I can run 123km on a broken bone if I need to? is that hard enough? 😂
I don’t know if there’ll be a next year, but I know I have a lot more in me 🔥✌️

Celebrate even the shortest of wins. On this typical training run, with slightly tired legs, I decided to wear my race shoes and have a crack at 2 X 500m time trials. Managed 3:09 and 3:10 pace which was unimaginable to me a year ago. Followed this up with a decent build and tempo effort.
