I feel we need to clear the air as there seems to be a lot of miscommunication around our centre during construction works.
Please see an email below from the council. Our centre will be in operation whilst works are happening events can go ahead as planned and we would appreciate it if people came to us first before going to the council and making assumptions
If any tennis or pickleball events want to go ahead while construction is happening you are welcome to.
Glenn,
I just wanted to come back to you to clear the air, as I understand there may have been some concern that Iโd advised the Regional Assembly that no courts would be available during construction.
To be clear, that is not the case, and I have since gone back to the Assembly to explicitly clarify the position.
Iโve confirmed with them that:
The Centre remains open and accessible throughout the construction period, and
Courts that are not subject to the capital works remain available for general use and tournament programming through your operation, as normal.
Iโve also explained that only the courts captured within the two capital works scopes will be offline, and that the exact duration of those impacts is still to be confirmed, pending the tender process and contractor appointment. That timing is not yet confirmed for anyone, yourself included and will be shared as soon as it is locked in.
I wanted you to know that any earlier miscommunication that prompted your concerns here should now been addressed directly, and that the Assembly understands the distinction between:
courts impacted by capital works, and
the remaining courts that continue to operate.
If anything, further comes back your way that doesnโt reflect this, please let me know.
Thanks mate, appreciate you raising it.
Cheers
JB
