Ty - Cadet 12
Milla - Cadet 9 Beginner This year we have Ty competing in Cadet 12.

I thought I would start this page so my personal page isn't always flooded with karting pics and info - plus this way I can share with you more of what we love! I'll try and keep you updated on everything karting for us O'Neills, from training sessions to big meets, gear and sponsors. Ty is 10yrs old and has been racing since he was 7. Milla is 6 yrs old and is learning the ropes in beginner Cadet

9. Jez might even try and get a drive this year at some local meets - Jez will compete in TAG heavy. We're members of the Emerald Kart Club and are lucky enough to have one of the best kart tracks in Australia! We plan on having a big year karting this year and with a new little (pink) driver we will be busier than ever! We would love to get Ty to some National rounds and both the Queensland rounds. CQ Series and local meets are also on the cards. A big shout out to our sponsors Emerald Kart Sports and Refelec for your continued support. Also to MG Engines for the rocket engines.

Ty raced at the Norton Rogers memorial on the weekend. His first time in his Junior chassis in Gladstone and he really impressed me. He didn’t put a foot wrong all weekend. The chassis was awesome, didn’t touch it and his engine was on song all weekend thanks to MG Engines for the horsepower and Energy Corse Australia for the Chassis.

The trip home was a bit of an adventure. A slight hiccup at westwood (luckily in an 80km zone) made the last 200km take a bit longer. But home safe and will sort it out for the next one.

Got home yesterday after a big drive from Albury Wodonga where Ty raced in Round 2 of the Australian Kart Championship.
We asked alot of Ty this weekend to drive a chassis that he had never driven at a track he had never been to against 50 of the fastest Cadet 12 drivers in the country his results

Quali - 14th

Heat 4-15th (from grid 32 after DNF)
Final - DNF ( Got caught up in a crash on the
back straight on lap 1)

We are keen for the next round at Newcastle
Thanks to MG Engines, engines were awesome as always the Flack’s and Birse’s for all the help and advice over the weekend.

Wow, what a day!! Before qualifying had started the officials had declared the meeting wet. Safe to say qualifying is not Ty’s strong point!

As there is a field of 57 drivers in Ty’s class, they are divided into groups A, B and C. Then they race heats A v B, B v C etc.

After qualifying 38th (and a quiet lil discussion with dad) Ty placed 16th in the first heat. The 2nd heat was reg flagged on the 5th lap, Ty made it up to 19th. Ty’s group didn’t compete in heat 3. Heat 4 he battled his way to 15th.

Kart set up has been a challenge today with the weather being anyone’s guess. One minute the track is dry and the next it’s raining.

So far in points Ty is sitting at 21st! He has one more heat in the morning, then providing he is top 40 (which at this stage should be no problem) the final is scheduled for 12:19pm (Qld time).

Ty’s nearly at his goal of finishing top 20, fingers crossed he can smash it tomorrow 🤞💙

Ty (and Jeremy) are currently in Monarto, SA for the first round of the Australian Kart Championship. After timed practice today Ty still has to find a bit of pace. He will start Qualifying tomorrow morning in 32nd place. This means he will start in 3rd place of the “lower 50%” group. This should give him some clear air and hopefully punch out some good times 🤞 We’re aiming for top 20, so we’ll see what the day brings 😬👍

The count down is on for the first round of the Australian Kart Championship in Monarto, SA.

Wow, what a day!!
Heat 4 - we've had some rain in the morning but the track had dried out n we made a last min decision to put the slicks back on (kart still set up for the wet). Ty drove really well considering and finished 12th.
Final- Ty started in 11th. It started really bucketing down on the roll up lap and only got worse! Ty did really well to keep it on the track. Spun out once which lost him a heap of places. He finished the race but we have no idea what he placed! Timing app didn't work for the race so we'll have to wait for results.
Thanks to Finchy for letting up pit with you, thanks to Lynn n Kemp for travelling all that way with us to support Ty n keep us company. Thanks to MG Engines as usual.

Happy finals day 😳😬
