Head Queensland State Age Championships

As per the attached email, we can now announce that there is a new major sponsor for the State Age Championships, welcome on board Solinco.

While we are always looking to the future, it is important to recognise our previous major sponsors, Head and Ash Barty. Thank you for all your support and efforts. Your support over the last 30+ years has turned the Championship into a National Award-winning event. Thank you Don Nicol for your unwavering support. We wish the new committee and new sponsors all the very best. From the past TDs, and from Glenn and myself thank you for all your love and support over the many years. We will miss being apart of this event. Once a tournament to an event everyone looked forward to. We hope the new committee can live up to the expectations that we created.

This post hurts me more than anything as Glenn and I have loved putting this event on. From winning a newk, last man standing, unlimited prizes, free food for everyone our famous mcsnoweys and unlimited food in the canteen.

Good Afternoon Everyone

Just giving you all as much notice as possible that Kim and I will not be involved in operations for the 2026 State Age. As the Rockhampton centre will be undergoing major redevelopment, we are not even sure if the event will be even held in Rockhampton as this yet to be decided.

Both Kim and I have enjoyed our yearly catch-ups, putting on the best event as we were able and watching all the kids developing into wonderful players and human beings. We hope you've enjoyed this event as much as we have & wish you all the best in your tennis endeavors and hope to see you soon.

I have finally stopped to be able to do a post. Well what another great event. We wouldnt be able to pull this off without the village of volunteers that we have.

A huge thank you to our sponsors Ash Barty and TFK Tennis for Kids and Head sporting goods. We wouldnt have been able to offer everyone what we did without you so thank you.

A huge thank you to the players, parents and coaches without you we wouldnt even be able to hold this event. Thank you for all your patience with the system outage it was tough on us all.

A big thank you to all the officials and Rhett as TD. You guys did amazing especially with the unexpected storm Monday night.

A huge thank you to the physios from Movement Improvement you helped eo many players out through out the 4 days.

Last man standing was another huge hit and we can't thank Aussie Athletes Agency, Ash Barty and TFK for their donations. Total prize pool was $1170 for 1st place but we even gave away $50 for 2nd, 3rd and 4th this year. Thanks again for a great turnout.

From my family to yours we thank every single one of you for your donations and burgers for Neil. We raised a whopping $7699.40. Thank you so much.

Last but not least our volunteers. We could not pull this event off without you. To put into perspective we cooked 798 Mc'Snoweys, 600+ burgers, 67kgs of chips and over 28kgs of Mince. You all worked tirelessly for the 4 days. Glenn and I couldn't do it without you so thank you.

We hope you all enjoyed this event as much as we did. We hope to see you all next year.

Good evening everyone

Just a quick word that I have secured a last minute sponsor for this years Head State Age allowing us to offer all your kids and coaches free Brekky and free dinners for all every day during the tournament.!!!!!!

If you have already factored in food in your pricing for the event it would be appreciated if you could donate to Stroke Australia Sunday evening - just a thought!!!

Hopefully this will make for another awesome 4 days of tennis.
