MASA Barra classic 2026 is a wrap. Staff members Shaun and Boyce fished the comp this year and what an event it was. They finished 7th place with a total 5 fish length of 556cm making their average fish a hair over 111cm. Day 1 turned it on for the pair with some insane fishing in the early morning period of the all nighter, with glide baits and segmented swimbaits doing the damage. In particular the Evergreen esflat, Zerek live mullet and the Imakatsu javallon 160 putting most fish in the bag. Day 2 was a lot less fruitful only producing the one upgrade and too many missed opportunities but hey that’s fishing. The jerk fly 25cm being the lure to produce the upgraded during the afternoon period. We would like to thank the MASA event organisers, all the sponsors and the other teams for making for such an enjoyable event. If you are ever considering dabbling in a comp this is the one. Great atmosphere, well organised and most importantly super fun. Congrats to the winning team, Team Edge rods well done boys. If you want the full run down pop in store to have a yarn.
