From Gracemere to History – Congratulations Belinda Sharpe on 250 NRL Games!
Every referee starts somewhere.
For Belinda Sharpe, that journey began on a local rugby league field in Central Queensland, officiating a junior game at Gracemere. Like so many young referees, she started with a whistle, a passion for the game, and a willingness to learn.
This weekend, Belinda celebrates an incredible milestone as she officiates her 250th NRL match in the Broncos v Titans clash at Suncorp Stadium.
Along the way, she has achieved more than most could ever dream of.
In 2019, she made rugby league history when she became the first woman to referee an NRL men's premiership match, breaking a barrier that had stood since the game's inception more than a century earlier.
She has also officiated at the highest levels of the game, including State of Origin, international matches and World Cup tournaments.
From a junior game at Gracemere to making history on the NRL stage and now reaching 250 first-grade appearances, Belinda has become one of the most respected officials in rugby league and an inspiration to referees across Australia.
The Rockhampton Rugby League Referees Association is incredibly proud of what Belinda has achieved and the example she continues to set for the next generation of match officials.
Congratulations Belinda on this remarkable milestone.
From Gracemere to the history books.
