Today we lost an angel… Rest In Peace Afroz, you wonderful human.

After a short battle with aggressive bowel and liver cancer, our beautiful Afroz said goodbye to this world…

She left behind parts of her pure soul with her precious son, her husband - and the rest of us with memories of an authenticity, kindness and generosity of heart we will never forget.

She was a part of the RMA family for over 5 years, and a part of the fabric of our lives…

Goodbye for now… rest well.

you know how the rest of the saying goes.

Sled runs are a great way to improve your cardio and overall strength. The more you load up the weights the more you should feel that sweet, sweet burn in your legs. Your feet and lower legs, quads, hamstrings, glutes, and core are all working to push the sled along.

The sled can also dramatically improve your ability to accelerate, which will improve your quickness, and your acceleration technique.

Hard sweaty sessions sometimes call for some laughter, fitness is not all about being serious 24/7. If you can't have some banter with your friends in between your sets then what's the point of training with friends.

Training with people that can help push you and motivate you is important. The people that you surround yourself with can affect how much you actually enjoy showing up to training, meaning choosing a gym with a supportive community should be your priority.

Front squats are great to target your quads and upper back versus back squats which target more your lower back, hips and glutes. Both exercises, however, are important in helping your body become stronger overall. Don't omit one from your exercise regime just because you prefer the other.

Stretching with friends is always more fun than alone. You always have to warm up properly before your workout. This is to ensure that your body is ready for the intense training you're about to put it through.

This, in the long run, prevents injury and aids in recovery the following day (A good cool down with stretching would also help this process)

To remember to show up on time to class so you can warm up correctly.

Always have a friend watching your back if you can. Spotters are important because firstly they can check you for correct form and technique and secondly, give you that extra boost of confidence you need to lift heavier.

Especially if you've been too afraid to go for your 1RM having someone squatting down, or holding the bar whilst you attempt to go your heaviest can make you feel safer and prevent injury in the long run.

What a fantastic group of people we have here. All slowly making their way on their fitness journey. Some recovering from injuries others working on building muscle, and some just looking to get stronger and stronger.

Front squats are not an easy movement but are fundamental if you want to improve your squat overall and become stronger. Getting stronger in your front squat will not only help your deadlift but improve your back squat.

So don't skip leg day guys, training your legs will help you in all aspects of your training.
