I recently had an experience where I was reminded of a memory that triggered unpleasant feelings. My immediate reaction was for my mind to block the memory in order to protect me (a useful tool once upon a time). But the thing is…I wasn’t in danger, but my mind couldn’t tell the difference between the memory and real life. So instead of trying to fix it, I allowed my mind and emotions to move freely. I breathed deeply and I surrendered. I don’t say this lightly because to be honest, it’s a skill I have practiced for many years. Yoga helped me to understand my awareness and surrender. Two of my favourite skills that any great yoga teacher can reconnect in you.

Reduce stress with a 2-Minute breathing technique.
➻ Sit or lie comfortably – Relax your shoulders and close your eyes if you like.
➻ Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of 4 – Feel your belly rise, not just your chest.
➻ Hold your breath gently for a count of 2 – no strain, just a pause.
➻ Exhale slowly for a count of 6 – Imagine releasing stress with the breath.
➻ Repeat for 6–8 cycles (about 2 minutes).
💡 Tip: If counting feels tricky, just make your exhale longer than your inhale—that’s the key to activating calm.

We often overlook the preciousness of life and the limited time we have. Live a life that fills you with pride, surrounding yourself with those who uplift and champion you, especially when others may not. Pursue what brings you joy, reach for your goals, and seek no one's approval. If your job brings you misery, have the courage to leave it. Value your time and ensure your income aligns with that. Move your body and put your wellbeing first. Never apologize or dumb yourself down for the comfort of others. Live a life your past, present and future self will be proud of 🙏

It’s a gentle stretch for the back, hips, thighs, and ankles, helping to alleviate tension and increase flexibility in these areas. This pose also promotes relaxation and stress relief by encouraging deep, mindful breathing, which can calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety. Additionally, Child’s Pose can improve circulation and support digestion by gently massaging the abdominal organs. Its restorative nature makes it an excellent choice for beginners or as a restful break during more intense yoga sessions, allowing practitioners to reconnect with their breath and center their focus.

Life update. I thought I would be back teaching regular Yoga classes by now. I've had many offers to teach and many students asking “when”. I've definitely thought about it and I know I will eventually teach regular classes again.

My life has changed so much, breastfeeding takes it out of me, my body isn't as flexible and my muscles are super tight. Im forgetful, I stumbled on my words and I confuse my lefts and rights, but my heart is full! I'm doing the best I can with what I know and what I have in this season of my life, and I can’t see myself anywhere else but right here.

Yoga is too beneficial to not share which is why I will always hold my yoga retreats. They're a solid reminder of how much I love yoga, and they never failed to remind my attendees how much they need self care. More retreats coming soon ☁️ I miss your familiar faces! 🙏
