For the Robinvale Swan Hill Rifle Club, Anzac Day was a day to remember and pay tribute, to those who not only sacrificed their lives, but for those who served.
Like many clubs this year, shooting a .303 at 300yrds was an ideal way to celebrate Anzac Day.
For those who did not have a .303, they need not have worried, as a number of members were glad to bring out their collection to share around. A few members even brought out their "Reg Dean Specials" to share and show. (it was a bit of a show and tell day for all)
But they were soon reminded of just what type of weapons the "Diggers" used and how much of a "boot" it had.
A few adjustments, a few gentle rubbings of the shoulders (with grins) and they seemed to roll into it.
As you can see in the pics, Doug, our Captain was armed and ready with his table/trailer.... the mini tank.
We won't talk about the scoring, but overall, a great tribute for Anzac Day and a great lot of fun for our members!
Just another reminder that this June long weekend is a three-day shoot.
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th will be the club's long weekend shoot, while on Monday the 8th, it will be the Veterans Day shoot. The Veterans shoot will be run on a handicap basis.
If you are interested in shooting for that weekend, please read the flyers posted on our page and please let the appropriate people know so we can accommodate for catering.
Next year however, our June long weekend shoot will be a Centenary Shoot! 100 years of being a club! Again, if you have any pictures or items you wish to loan, share or pass on to the club for the 100th Long Weekend Shoot Event, please let us know.
