Australian Arabian National Championships Update
AANC 2026 –Schedule of Events & Judging Panel Announced!
18–21 March 2026 | SIEC, Sydney

We are thrilled to unveil the final schedule for the 2026 Australian Arabian National Championships, along with our distinguished judging panel:

🇺🇸 Ms Lindsay Rinehart (USA)
🇧🇪 Mr Juan Murillo (Belgium)
🇦🇺 Ms Kate Wheatley (Australia)
🇦🇺 Ms Helen Dohan (Australia)

The AANC Show Committee has confirmed the traditional four-day format will continue. The decision reflects both the historical significance of the event and the logistical realities of delivering a comprehensive national program. In response to a broad range of feedback and cost considerations, we’ve refined the schedule with:

✅ Class consolidation for efficiency;
✅ Indoor Arena hosting (except Dressage); and
✅ Improved scheduling flow

We are also working very hard to absorb recent venue hire increases announced by SIEC and will continue to monitor the financial and logistical viability of the format for future years. Importantly, the committee will continue to monitor the financial and logistical viability of the four-day format and will engage with members following the 2026 event to assess options for 2027 and beyond.

Entries open soon via Nominate, so start preparing your horses and plans!

Show season is almost upon us, and we’re excited to highlight once again one of our industry’s most respected Owner/Trainer/Breeders, Johanna Ullström (Malou).

A passionate and influential figure in the Arabian horse world, Johanna has been an integral part of the industry for many years. Born in Sweden, she has been a horse lover for as long as she can remember. She entered the show ring at just 18 years old, and from that moment on, her path was clear.

Johanna describes Arabian horses as sensitive, intelligent, willing, expressive, and undeniably beautiful. "The sparkle they have just by existing, the proud way they move, the arched neck, the glowing eyes, it must come from inside,".

As we head into show season, we share Johanna's expertise and the passion she brings to the Arabian horse community.
