Well we had an amazing couple of days, lessons learned and a great time with me and my daughter racing. Sophie started the weekend getting back into the A-JD for the first time in 11 months. She did an outstanding job with a 0.039 light straight of the trailer. Unfortunately the wind dropped at exactly the wrong time for us and she ran almost a full tenth faster than her qualifying runs.. which had all been within a few hundredths.

Special mention to my mate Johnny Lewis for all the work getting the JD to the start lines, engine steering.. mate can’t thank you enough!!

Now I have to admit I have been chasing an improvement in the Cortina, but I have to admit the tune it came with from Perth seems to be the one it likes best so I’ve finally worked out I should just leave the bloody thing alone and run it as it is.
I also lost in Rnd 1 with a -004 red light.

Thank you Sophie racing with you is truly a fantastic way to spend any day.

Big day at the track yesterday! 🏁🔥

Bazza smashed it with 2 wins from 3 races — a massive improvement and great to see all the hard work paying off 👏🏎️💨

Even better with the Winternationals getting closer and another car returning to the track soon… exciting times ahead! 🙌

After the “f**k up fairy” hanging around these past few months, last night at QDRC turned it all around.

We broke an axle, then a new diff built from scratch, followed by the wheel nuts shearing off mid-race… losing a wheel and somehow managing a spectacular three-wheel spin at takeoff without hitting the wall or our competitor 👏.

Back on track last night —and Baz kept all 4 wheels on the track and won his very first race! 🏁

Safe to say the "f**k up fairy" has officially left the building. Well done, Baz ! 🎉👏💥

Test ’n Tune… and Test Our Patience 😅🏎️

Lowday Family Racing | Willowbank Raceway

Tonight at Willowbank Raceway started with high hopes and two working cars — which, in hindsight, was probably tempting fate.

Barry rolled in with the trusty Cortina, and James brought the Mirage out for its very first night in action. New car, fresh excitement, big smiles… what could possibly go wrong?

Well.

Barry was up first and wasted no time discovering that his diff had officially retired from racing life. One run in, and it was done. Game over.

Not to be outdone, James followed up after 3 successful runs, improving each time with a spectacular debut… and then on run 4 thoroughly stuffed his clutch. First night out, first mechanical failure — welcome to motorsport, mate 😂

So there we were: two cars, two drivers, zero working drivetrains.
Still, spirits were high, laughs were had, and that’s all part of the fun at Lowday Family Racing. Because if racing was easy, everyone would do it — and we wouldn’t have half as many stories.

Anyone out there keen to sponsor some very enthusiastic (and slightly broken) racecars? 😜🏁

So this was Soph's last race day of the year! 🏁 We had another super successful day, with her learning more and more with every run. It's so awesome to see her confidence grow and her skills improve. Really proud of her dedication and how she keeps pushing herself. Keep up the amazing good work! 💪 🎉👏💕

Another great weekend at Willowbank. Congratulations Sophia for getting your first win light on the Junior Bike and dad couldn't get past reocurring red lights. Keep on practising Baz, you'll get it! 🏆🥇🏍️🚦 🏎

James hit the track Friday night on the new bike — kicking off the next chapter of his #6283 drag racing journey!

It was his first time running the quarter mile on the big bike, and while there’s still plenty of setup and fine-tuning ahead, we’ve got a solid starting point. Exciting times ahead as we dial it in and chase down those goals!
