Norwood Football Netball Club Est. in 1960 & plays in the Eastern FL 1st division. The club has won six football premierships, fields four senior football teams and six netball teams.

Weekend Recap | June 19–20

Another big weekend at Norwood, with our footballers and netballers representing the club across the field and courts, while many of our members, supporters and friends came together on Saturday night for Beyond the Wood.

A huge thank you to everyone who pulled on the purple and gold, volunteered their time, supported from the sidelines, or helped make our events possible. It takes a whole club to create weekends like these.

Thank you to everyone who attended Beyond the Wood and helped make it a fantastic night. The energy, atmosphere and support for the event were incredible.

🔦Round 9 Player Spotlight🔦

This week we take a look at Jos Landy's match versus Bayswater. You can see we're a much better side when we have the young gun playing. In his second game back from surgery Jos finished with 29 touches (17 contested), 7 inside 50s, 9 clearances and 7 tackles.

Ned Renfree also had a cracker with 17 touches, seven marks and four goals (106FP). Jacko Winter was everywhere with 24 touches, 7 marks, 4 rebound 50s, 5 inside 50s, 5 clearances and 6 tackles (138 FP). Cody Perry was massive in the last quarter and finished with 22 touches (19 contested), 10 clearances, 16 hit outs (106 FP)

💜Something that nearly slipped by in all the excitement over the Weekend!! 💜📣

Congratulations to Norwood legend Leigh Williams on reaching the remarkable milestone of 1,000 career goals.👏🏼

From 643 goals for Norwood to a further 230 goals with Yarrawonga, along with contributions during his time at Seville and at VFL level with Williamstown, Leigh has built a record that places him among the great goal kickers. 🏉

While the numbers are extraordinary, those who know Leigh understand his impact goes far beyond the scoreboard. Not only is he one of the finest spearheads to represent Norwood and the EFNL, he is also one of the club’s greatest people. A fantastic clubman, respected teammate, mentor and friend, Leigh has given so much to everyone connected with the Norwood and now as his time coaching Yarrawonga.

Congratulations on 1,000 goals, Leigh. An incredible achievement and a fitting reward for a remarkable football journey.💛
