Saturday Bowls Results - Round 10

Premier League got a win over South Burnie in a tight contest, retaining the Town and Country Cup. Winning on two rinks, with Elijah Murray’s rink claiming an 8-shot win and Anthony Armstrong’s rink finishing 6 shots ahead.

Division 2 went down to Latrobe in a solid performance, winning on two rinks. Chris White’s rink was edged out by just one shot, while Matthew Butler secured an impressive 11-shot win and Bruce Jubb added a 1-shot win.

Division 3 were defeated by South Burnie at home but showed good fight across the afternoon, picking up two rink wins. Vonda Hazelwood’s rink won by 2 shots, as did Tim Sargent’s rink.

Sargent’s Day Mixed Pairs – Australia Day

Don’t forget to join us for the Sargent’s Day Mixed Pairs Competition this Australia Day, Monday 26th. It’s shaping up to be a fun and competitive day on the green, with plenty of good bowls and great company.

Thursday Round 8 Results

It was a convincing team performance in Round 8, with a strong win over Turners Beach winning on all three rinks. Lynne Hodgetts led the way with a 14-shot win, while Lorraine Lucas recorded a solid 6-shot victory and Vonda Hazelwood rounded out the result with a 4-shot win. Well done to everyone involved in a great team effort.

Welcome back to Round 10 of Saturday Pennant, we hope everyone enjoyed the break and is refreshed for the run home.

Our Premier League side is back in action away to South Burnie, while Division 2 also hits the road to take on Latrobe. For those playing in Division 2, players can meet at the Yacht Club at 11:45am. At home, our Division 3 side will host South Burnie.

Good luck to all teams pulling on the club colours this weekend, enjoy the bowls and play well.

On behalf of Ridgley Bowls Club, we would like to thank all the ladies for attending our Casey Hiscutt Ladies Veterans day. We certainly turned the weather on. This year saw quite a few new super veterans. Great to see the ladies step out for a fun day of bowls.

Congratulations to Janet for bowling closest to the small spider.

Thank you to the greenkeepers & ladies in the kitchen. Great day had by all.

A big thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and came along to be part of the night. Your support is greatly appreciated and helped make it a great evening at the club.

Plenty of spot prizes were handed out on the night, with more than a few people heading home happy. Thanks again to everyone involved, it was a terrific night.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making last week’s Elders Burnie Gala Weekend such a success.

Events like this simply don’t happen without the time, effort, and goodwill of our volunteers and helpers. A massive thank you to everyone who pitched in across the weekend; in the kitchen, behind the bar, on the green, and in the background keeping everything running smoothly. Your hard work and willingness to help is what makes weekends like this possible.

We’d also like to sincerely thank our two major sponsors, Elders Real Estate Burnie and The Beach Hotel. Without your continued support, events like this simply wouldn’t be achievable. It’s your backing that allows us to keep putting on weekends like this, bringing people together, showcasing our club, and creating opportunities for our members and visitors alike. We’re incredibly grateful for your ongoing support of both the club and this event.

A special thank you as well to Aaron, Carly, Gary, and Jess for making the trip over and being part of the weekend. We know how busy you all are and truly appreciate you taking the time to play with us. You gave our members the chance to play with and against some of the very best, and just as importantly, you were a pleasure to have around the club. You are fantastic ambassadors for the game and two of the best promoters of bowls we could ask for.

Saturday Bowls Results

Premier League vs Port Sorell
Premier League recorded a great home win against the previously undefeated Port Sorell, winning on two rinks. Aaron Teys’ rink led the way with an impressive 18-shot win, while Elijah Murray’s rink added another great result, winning by 10 shots. A terrific effort against quality opposition.

Division 2 vs South Burnie
Division 2 got a strong away win over South Burnie, taking three rinks in an excellent showing. Chris White’s rink won by 14 shots, Bruce Jubb’s rink followed with a 15-shot win, and Matthew Butler’s rink topped it off with a great 17-shot win. Some outstanding results right across the side.

Division 3 vs Ulverstone
Division 3 went down to Ulverstone in a solid contest away from home but still picked up two rink wins. Noel Hodgett’s rink secured a 6-shot win, while Tim Sargent’s rink edged out a close one with a 1-shot win. A competitive match with plenty of effort shown.

All in all, it’s been a great weekend of results for the club. Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to all our players and supporters.
