Round 6 v Brisbane was designated as Jim's Game as a tribute to Jim Stynes and his impact on the Melbourne Football Club, and his community work. For the 2nd year in a row, and the third time since his passing, a commemorative jumper was worn with a green shamrock on the front of the home jumper.

Proceeds from the auctions were donated to the Jim Stynes Foundation.

The first 2 of the jumpers I won were collected yesterday, #21 Matthew Jefferson & #22 Blake Howes. I also was successful in winning #13 Jai Culley, however due to his knee injury sustained a week later, he was not available for the signing day. I will post this when it arrives

The first of many 2026 jumpers have arrived, with the Gather Round jumpers and warm up tops.

These jumpers were voted on in an online vote with 3 other alternatives in late 2025 by members and were inspired by the 2001/2002 preseason jumper, with the popular flame head demon added to this 2026 version

I managed to secure Jake Lever & Tom Sparrow during the auction.

In addition to the Jumpers, Melbourne also prepared special Gather Round warm up tops that were also auctioned. These also had the popular Flame head Demon logo and had the appearance of a American Football jersey.

Something different and pleased to add the warm ups of Christian Salem and Blake Howes.

It is going to be an busy year for jumpers with lots of variants already worn in the first 10 rounds.

A batch of jumpers appeared on eBay last week that raised some eyebrows. The Hardcore MFC collectors got together to try and work out what they were.

Paul , Joel and I were confident they were a batch of jumpers for the 2023 season given the sponsors, however this redback clash version was not worn.

A chat with a contact at the club confirmed the batch was in fact prepared for the 2023 season prior to the fixture being released. This redback would have be worn if Melbourne played 'away' against Fremantle in either the Home & Away season or during finals. As the this never eventuated, these were not used, and due to sponsor changes for the 2024 season, they were discarded.

The above the number sponsor is missing, as these were heatpressed for Beyond Bank, and given they were not used, the logo was not applied.

Not sure how to categorise the jumper in the collection. Player prepared? Player Issued?, either way, nice to have these examples.

A new addition picked up at an Auction in late March, has taken a while to post as I was working with the MFC Hardcore crew to make we had the details correct.

This one was advertised as a 1981 MFC home jumper, with the player being Andy Moir. Andy played 73 games for Melbourne between 1977 & 1981, and is the uncle of Jayden Hunt. The sponsor logo was correct and the VFL logo also right, however the anomaly was the jumper manufacturer. Brandella tags were on VFL jumpers from 1975-1983 and were known to be the manufacturer behind Adidas branded jumpers.

Adidas tagged jumpers did not appear on MFC jumpers until late in 1983 and for the 1984 season. We have examples of 1983 Brandella and Adidas branded jumpers with the Mayne Nickless sponsor logo. 1984 saw the full team in Adidas tagged jumpers, but Hertz was the jumper sponsor in 1984.

So with 99% confidence, this one is a late season 1983 jumper, which was worn by Dale Dickson. The only evidence of Dale wearing a jumper is from 1982, so these are for reference only.

Dale was on the list from 1982-1986 playing 56 games before joining the Brisbane Bears.

Appreciate the collaboration with Joel & Paul, and welcome this one into my collection.
