Sensei Con Sklavounos began his karate training in 1975 in Richmond Victoria, and at the age of 16 opened the Richmond Shotokan dojo in 1983. He has competed and coached students to compete in many State, National and International competitions over the years. Con Sklavounos began his training with the traditional JKA (Japan Karate Association) style of karate. He later joined and continued his ka

rate training with the Shotokan Karate Association of Australia (SKAA) under Australasian Chief Instructor Sensei Frank Nowak and then Shotokan Karate International (SKI) under Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa. Sensei Con was awarded his Shodan (1st Dan black belt) at age 15 by Sensei Frank Nowak and opened the Richmond School the following year aged 16, making him one of if not the youngest independent instructor.

This is a big term coming up to fine tune for members that will be able to grade in December.
- Black belt / Dan gradings will be held at Coburg Dojo in December for all of you who are ready - date to be confirmed.

Please try and make as many training sessions as possible.

New members are always welcome we have limited spots for juniors and seniors.

I am really looking forward to this years grading, some junior members started with us at 6-8 years old. Now at the age of 15 up to 20 years old will be considered for black belt.

A huge achievement and all the hard work and commitment to Karate. 🥋

Merry Christmas All, Thank you to everyone for a great year of training. The last class attendance was fantastic for 3 days before Christmas, juniors and seniors.

Training will recommence for 2023 on Monday 23rd January at normal times.

Please note if you would like to train earlier WSKA Coburg Dojo will be open from 9th January 2023.

See you in the New Year 2023.

Amazing effort especially in the crazy 34 deg heat. Richmond Shotokan members, we are so proud of you all.

A great effort last night to all juniors and one senior in grading. Juniors that have consistently trained this year were very impressive in all levels of grading.

So proud to see all the effort come together. Congratulations to Seven, senior White belt who also showed great determination.
