Round 12 is here, Cyclones! ❤️🖤

We're back at home this weekend at Charlie Buckler Oval for another fantastic morning of junior rugby! 🌪️🏉

As the season begins to wind down, we're looking forward to seeing our youngest Cyclones continue to build their confidence, support their teammates and, most importantly, have fun out on the field.

Come on down, cheer from the sidelines and enjoy a great morning of rugby with our Cyclones community.

🏉 U11 Cyclones Blacks vs U11 Sunnybank 🏉

The U11 Cyclones Blacks showed plenty of character today, digging deep to come away with a hard-fought win over Sunnybank.

It wasn’t a perfect performance, but the players stuck together, found a way to get the job done, and showed great resilience when it mattered most. While there’s plenty to work on, it’s always pleasing to come away with the result.

Now it’s back to work at training as the team looks to build on today’s performance and finish the season strongly.

🏉 U11 Cyclones Maroons vs U11 Wynnum Red 🏉

A fantastic team performance from our U11 Maroons, who dug deep to come away with a win over Wynnum! 💪🌪️

The team overcame a disrupted start with key positional changes, injuries, and several players taking on extra minutes in the forwards. Everyone stepped up when it mattered most. The hard work through the middle from the forwards laid the platform, while the backs provided great support play to help secure the win.

🏆 Player of the Match Awards

⭐ Ashton – Outstanding all game. Dominant through the middle, involved in every ruck, making strong carries, and even shifting to fly-half when the team needed him. A fantastic all-round performance.

⭐ Ryan M – Solid in defence, strong with the ball in hand, and delivered some excellent passes to put his wingers into space.

⭐ Roman – With the ball not coming his way often, Roman made himself invaluable around the rucks and in defence, while adding another trademark long-range try to his season.

A special mention to Mayon for scoring his first try, Riley for her strong runs through the middle, Connor for steering the team around the park, and Keanu and Ben, who both battled through heavy knocks and were ready to return if needed.

Only two games remain this season. Let’s finish strongly—see everyone at training this week!

🏉 U7 Cyclones vs U7 North Lakes 🏉

Another great game for our U7 Cyclones against North Lakes!

The team worked hard together from start to finish and showed just how much they are improving each week. It was fantastic to see the players getting better at sealing the ball after a tag and moving it quickly from the ruck, with everyone contributing to a strong team performance.

🏆 Players of the Match:

⭐ Michael – for always being there to help seal the ball after a tag and bringing a positive attitude to every game.

⭐ August – for his excellent support play, positive attitude, and always being where his teammates needed him most.

Well done to all of our U7 Cyclones for another fantastic morning of rugby. Keep working hard and having fun!

🏉 U8 Cyclones vs U8 North Lakes & U8 Redcliffe Sea Snakes 🏉

Our U8 Cyclones enjoyed a fantastic morning of rugby at North Lakes, taking on both the Redcliffe Sea Snakes and the North Lakes Leopards in a three-way clash.

The first game against the Sea Snakes was full of great teamwork, with Ollie and Elijah crossing for some brilliant tries while the whole team backed each other up and worked hard from start to finish. A real highlight was receiving a compliment from the opposing coach on the way our team played.

The second game against the Leopards was a tough contest, but the Cyclones dug deep and never gave in. Elijah, Charlie, and Harrison all found the try line, supported by some outstanding teamwork, strong defence, and plenty of determined effort in a thrilling finish.

🏆 Player of the Match: Asher

Asher gave everything he had, never stopped competing, and showed incredible determination throughout both games.

🌟 Team Spirit Award: Jackson

Jackson continues to lead by example with his support for his teammates and the heart he brings to every game.

Another fantastic morning of rugby and another step forward for this improving group. Well done, Cyclones! 🌪️

🏉 U9 Cyclones Maroons vs North Lakes Leopards 🏉

What a turnaround from the U9 Maroons!

After a few honest conversations and plenty of hard work at training, everything clicked today. Every single player bought into the game plan, worked together as a team, and played some fantastic rugby. Communication was excellent, the defence was outstanding, and the attack was sharp.

The effort around the rucks was exactly what the coaches had been asking for. The Maroons were first to loose balls all day, creating turnover after turnover and putting constant pressure on North Lakes. It was fantastic to watch the team play with such confidence, determination, and belief.

🏆 Players of the Match:

⭐ Sophie – for her outstanding running, strong tackling, and relentless work around the ruck. She was involved in everything.

⭐ Max B – an absolute ball thief at the breakdown! His exceptional work around the rucks created countless opportunities for the team.

🌟 Most Improved:

⭐ Heath – for the huge improvement in his work around the ruck and some really strong running.

⭐ Owen – who ran hard all day, made some big tackles, and put in a tremendous shift around the breakdown.

The coaching staff couldn't be prouder of this group. Every player contributed, worked for one another, and played as a true team. A fantastic performance and one to build on.

🏉 U9 Cyclones Blacks vs U9 North Lakes Leopards Purple 🏉

What a fantastic game of rugby between two evenly matched teams!

It was a contest full of big runs, big tackles, and some outstanding team tries from the Cyclones. This time our mates from North Lakes Leopards Purple came away with the win, but they certainly had to work for it. The Cyclones fought right to the final whistle, scoring some late tries to take the game down to the wire and showing tremendous determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout.

🏆 Players of the Day:

⭐ Zion – for his outstanding defence and strong runs down the wing.

⭐ Logan – for his powerful carries, solid defence, and the energy he brought to the team.

⭐ Ruby – for her determined defence and scoring her very first try, thanks to a fantastic team effort that moved the ball the length of the field.

⭐ Cohen (Captain) – for leading the way with strong communication, excellent awareness of gaps in defence, and powerful runs with the ball in hand.

Congratulations to the whole team on another great performance. The improvement each week continues to shine through.
