What a Month of May It Has Been!

May has been an incredible month for the Focus Tennis & Pickleball community, with outstanding achievements both on and off the court.

We kicked things off at the PPA Tweed Tournament, where our players brought home multiple medals:

Sophie Mason – Silver Medalist Junior Singles, Gold Medalist Junior Girls Doubles, and Gold Medalist 19+ Mixed Doubles 3.5–3.99.

Joe Crowther – Gold Medalist 19+ Mixed Doubles 3.5–3.99.

Josh Davey – 4th Place Junior Boys Singles.

Oliver Novic – Gold Medalist 18 & Under Boys Singles and Silver Medalist 18 & Under Boys Doubles.

The month also saw Focus Tennis & Pickleball proudly host the Redcliffe District Tennis Trials. Congratulations to Ares Mika and Ava Novic, who both successfully qualified to represent the district at the upcoming Sunshine Coast Regional Championships. We wish them the very best as they continue their tennis journey.

Next, we travelled to Warwick for the Southern Downs Junior Tennis Championships:

Ares Mika – Runner-Up in the 12 & Under Boys Singles and Doubles.

Kaley Rutter – 4th Place in the 14 & Under Girls Singles and Runner-Up in the 14 & Under Girls Doubles.

Oliver Novic – 3rd Place in the 14 & Under Boys Singles.

Matayo Valdebenito-Wust - Runner-up 17 & Under Boys Singles Shaw Park JDS

Harrison Hayward - Runner-Up 11 & Under Boys Singles Shaw Park JDS

To top off an amazing month, Focus Tennis & Pickleball was honoured to be named the winner of the 2026 Redcliffe Business Award for Health & Wellbeing.

We are incredibly humbled and proud of all our players, members, coaches, staff, and families. Thank you to everyone who supported us and took the time to vote. This award belongs to our entire community and is a reflection of the amazing people who make Focus Tennis & Pickleball such a special place.

May has showcased everything that Focus Tennis & Pickleball stands for—participation, development, achievement, community, and opportunity. Congratulations to all of our players on their outstanding results and thank you to everyone who continues to support our growing club.
