The Pit World Cup journey continued today.

We joined the legends of The Roo-V Tour for a local derby between Vancouver FC & Pacific FC in the Canadian Soccer League.

This match was held at Langley, 45mins east of downtown Vancouver.

With two Aussie players on the away team, we joined in the away bay and gave it a crack.

The absolute joy of World Cup travels meant scarves were swapped, beers bought and selfies taken.

Some Brisbane Roar FC folk may recognise Tamas Gomulka, who kindly gave us his time post match.

A mega doughnut day for our women as they defeated North Star 10-0

Heading into the shed at HT our women were ahead 3-0.

The Second half they let loose coming home with another 7 goals for the half

Coach Adam Clay said the following - “We started with 3-5-2 and worked on it at training this week. Last time they sat 11 behind the ball so we based our tactics from that.

First half was positive. We moved the ball well, switching the point of attack and going direct when the opportunity came. With 2 weeks off we had to find our feet again.

Second half we committed more into our attack and with some good team play that stretched their defence, we found more ways in.

No debuts, plenty of return from injuries though and was good to see us sharp and connected in possession.”

Full time at Briggs Road as our FQPL Women secure the 3 Points.

FT!! 2-1 to Ipswich FC away to Caboolture.

After going down 1-0 with in a minute, our boys again showed the fight within.

Missing two defenders and our first team goalie, tonight Ipswich FC continued to show that our team and our club in 2026 won’t say no, won’t lie down.

2 second half goals went to Jordan Ozzi (59’) and Nikolas Veal (85’)

Tonight also saw the league debut for Ryan Waalder and a Happy Birthday to our Captain Ben Piper!

OUT OF OFFICE - AT THE WORLD CUP

Kept this a bit quiet as I couldn’t believe at first, but now it’s only days away The Pit will be quiet over the next fortnight.

The Pit guy is heading to Vancouver for Australia’s World Cup match.

A couple of home games will be missed but as always, we encourage noise from the Briggs Rd southern end.

So The Pit hasn’t gone anywhere. It’ll be in full voice on its return.
