It was a big day of netball for our Port Stephens Netball Association 11s Blue and 11s Grey Development Squads and our 12s, 13s and 14s Representative teams at there Muswellbrook Netball Association Carnival today.

This is our last carnival ahead of the Netball NSW Junior State Titles coming up in July.

A big thanks to our umpires Jenny, Emma, Alison, Lucy and Trudy who supported today's games and to all our amazing coaches and managers for a great representative season.

🎉🏐 Big cheers for the Port Stephens Netball Association Junior Representatives who shone brightly at today's carnival in Kurri Kurri Netball Association / KKNA

Our Port 11s, 13s, and 14s teams played their hearts out, with the 14s coming home undefeated. What an incredible achievement!

💙💚 THE BLUE BAND & GREEN BAND INITIATIVES START TODAY! 💚💙

Today, Port Stephens Netball Association proudly launches two important initiatives that strengthen our commitment to inclusion, respect, safety and belonging across our netball community.

💙 BLUE BAND INITIATIVE
The Blue Band Initiative supports players who may require adjustments to participate confidently in our competitions. Players participating under inclusive netball rules will wear a blue wristband, allowing umpires to identify when approved adjustments may be applied during play.

💚 GREEN BAND INITIATIVE
The Green Band Initiative helps identify umpires under 18 years of age through the use of a green wristband. This Netball NSW initiative promotes respect, supports child safety and encourages positive experiences for our young officials.

Together, these initiatives remind us that netball is a game where everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, develop and thrive.

When you see a Blue Band:
💙 Support inclusion.
💙 Respect individual needs.
💙 Celebrate participation.

When you see a Green Band:
💚 Encourage young officials.
💚 Demonstrate respect.
💚 Help create a child-safe sporting environment.

💚🏐 THE GREEN BAND INITIATIVE STARTS THIS WEEK 🏐💚

From this week, Port Stephens Netball Association will be implementing the Green Band Initiative a Netball NSW program designed to promote respect and safeguard our young umpires.

Umpires under the age of 18 will wear a green wristband while officiating games, making it easy for players, coaches and spectators to identify that they are a young official developing their skills.

The Green Band Initiative supports:
✅ Respect for young umpires
✅ Positive learning environments
✅ Child safety in sport
✅ Confidence and development of future officials

When you see a green wristband, please remember that these young people are giving their time to our game and deserve encouragement, patience and respect.

Our young umpires are the future of netball, and together we can help create a positive and supportive environment for them to learn and grow.

💚 If you see GREEN, remember they're UNDER 18.

Port Stephens Netball Association is proud to launch the Blue Band Initiative as part of our commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible netball community.

The Blue Band Initiative supports players who may require adjustments to participate confidently and successfully in our competitions. Players participating under inclusive netball rules will wear a blue wristband, helping umpires identify when approved adjustments may be applied during play.

Examples of adjustments may include:
💙 Allowing players to hold the ball for up to 6 seconds.
💙 Permitting additional foot movement when receiving or passing the ball.
💙 Adjusting court positioning or pace to suit individual needs.
💙 Additional guidance from umpires where appropriate.

The Blue Band Initiative is built on four key principles:

🤝 Inclusivity – Everyone is welcome.
🛡️ Safety – Supporting participation in a safe environment.
⚖️ Fairness – Equitable opportunities for all players.
💙 Respect – Understanding and supporting individual needs.

At Port Stephens Netball, we believe netball is a game for everyone. The Blue Band Initiative helps ensure all players have the opportunity to participate, belong and enjoy our sport.

💙🦈 MAKING HISTORY | Port Stephens Netball Association BOYS 🦈💙

What a proud day for Port Stephens Netball Association as our first-ever Boys representative team took to the court at the Netball NSW State Challenge in Penrith!

This group of young athletes created a special piece of association history and represented Port Stephens with enthusiasm, determination and pride from the very first whistle to the last.

Throughout the day, the boys delivered some outstanding performances, showcasing their developing skills, teamwork and competitive spirit.

One of the highlights was a nail-biting victory that had players, coaches and supporters on the edge of their seats right until the final moments!

A huge congratulations to our players who embraced every opportunity, challenged themselves and demonstrated what representative netball is all about.

Your dedication, encouragement and commitment helped create a memorable experience for every athlete involved and laid the foundations for what we hope will be a strong future for boys netball at Port Stephens.

Today wasn't just about results it was about creating opportunities, building pathways and inspiring the next generation of boys to pick up a netball and give our great game a go.

We are incredibly proud of what this team achieved and can't wait to see these athletes back on the courts representing Port Stephens again in 2026.
